I really couldn't help myself.Honey bee stack! The bottom is a queen bee, above her is a drone (male bee), the rest are worker bees. Honey bees vary in color within each race and show a lot of variety, but each of these is based from top to bottom on the following bees: Russian, Cordovan, German, Carniolan, Caucasian, Buckfast, and Italian.

Huh, forgot to comment on this...OMG this is simply impressive! I love bees and not too long ago I was looking up the different types since different sites often had different things for each kind.
The Queen bee and drone are nicely well done, but I think we can all agree that the workers are the true stars. I love them all and do wish that there was more art dedicated to each kind instead of just having one meaning to the word bee.

keeping bees is really cool. It is much more like managing a city than it is like owning a pet. It is a big job, but it can be really fun.

I know a fella who keeps bees and he's told me all kinds of really great stories. I can imagine that it is considerably different. Individual bees are not cuddly. The entity for which you care is the hive. That'd be alright to me. But only after I've settled down. You can't really travel with bees
