Description
NEW REFERENCE SHEET:-----
GΓ xareh was born in a wealthy and powerful family, that had inherited the power of light magic. He had a mostly easy and enjoyable youth, his every need attended to by the family servants, that were well respected and cared for. He spent the vast majority of his time learning about the family powers, learning to control his own electric blue light, and enjoying the immediate surroundings of their home; a huge, hollow tree.
It was only later that he learned of the world beyond their small forest, where the creatures were far less well-off. He learned that much of the plentiful amounts of food at home came from there, and the hunters there just had to offer up most of their hard-earned meals to his family.
The first time he went beyond their small forest, he was alone. Oblivious to the power his family had over the rest of the country, he decided to explore 'the world'. When he spotted some of the locals far from their hollow tree, and tried to approach them, they cursed him and ran, quickly hiding baskets of freshly picked berries. To his surprise, none of them were wearing jewelry like everyone did at home. Many looked like they hadn't eaten enough for days, like when a family member was sick and refused to eat. Having a keen mind, it did not take long for him to get a grasp of the situation. He felt a small pang of guilt in his chest.
When he asked around at home, most of the answers he got were either vague or avoidant. Some said this was simply the way things were- he'd just have to accept it and enjoy his life. Not satisfied with their answers, he started thinking about how he could make things fairer. However, he soon realised he wasn't really willing to give up his life of luxury, and probably not help any of the locals out there by only making a personal sacrifice. Feeling powerless on his own and not supported by his family, he started becoming more withdrawn, and an ever present sadness had him in its grasp. Being unable to live a life of only sadness, he started looking for other ways to enjoy his life, and find beauty in the world. He liked seeing the beauty in things. He loved his attire, the colour of his magic. His life became a little better, but he had not forgotten about the ones who were out there.
During family parties, he often snuck out a basket or two of the berries, to fly them back to their rightful owners. His family would never notice the small loss- they would not even notice his absence. It was a small gesture, but it was noticed and appreciated, and his appearance was starting to get recognized beyond the border. For now, this relieved his feelings of guilt, but he knew that eventually, things would change. One day, his family would notice, and he'd have to make a choice. He was afraid.
My first new OC in 5 years, haha. I just loved him too much.

He is such a cool character, I like him very much!
His story is really interesting and his design is very neat in its simplicity but also in its added complexity with the attire
I'm so glad you decided to keep him around!!

Looks like one coming from a rather wealthy family, I like he's righteous though. And that green goes so well with the brown!
Too bad I have no idea how to pronounce his name, even inside my head. :')

Yup, he is (both)! Sometimes you realise things and it's hard, if not impossible, to go back to seeing things how they were. GΓ x is in a way brave enough to take action, but on the other hand only undercover (and he's terrified to be found out).
And thank you!
Sorry, haha. It's not the most internationally-pronounceable name. I'll try to break it down:
G - like in 'good'
Γ - like in 'dart'
x - your average x, like in 'max'
a - doesn't occur in English to my knowledge, but it occurs plenty in Dutch in words like 'baan', 'kraan', 'gaas'
r - I like to say it as a 'rolling' r, like in Dutch and Scottish, rather than the 'normal' English r
eh - like the e in 'less'

I had a hunch I'd seen him before, isn't this the same fellow: ?
I like characters like that, and oh no that sounds like a poor thing for him, though everybody has their flaws.
Thanks! XD 'A' exists in Finnish, so no worries. It mostly bothered not knowing which letters are voiced. Though can't blame you as I think 'Farrvaarh' isn't the easiest name either. You can pronounce it the weird Finnish style voicing each letter (one sound, one letter), or then like I thought her people would:
'Fa' - like in British 'father',
then the rolling double 'r' and not voicing 'v' and long 'a' and then 'h' which leaves kind of dry feeling to my throat. And then I don't know what English would make up of it. Maybe I'll make a scene of that to clear it up, I think most of my characters have trouble getting that right, anyhow. XD

Yesss, that's him! I didn't know I'd draw him again when I first drew him there, but then I completely fell in love with his design, somehow came up with a backstory, and tadaah, here he is with a reference sheet!
Ohhh, yeah, that's not the easiest name either no. xD

Haha, I completely understand that. Would be nice to see more works of him! And maybe his folk, too.
One does not choose what comes in the head. XD

GΓ x will definitely appear in more of my future drawings! I might show some of his folk, too. I've actually drawn two more characters that live with him and his family, but they aren't nearly worked out enough yet (I still need to decide whether I like them enough to present them).

Nope, one does not choose difficult names. Difficult names choose you.

Great! Indeed, it's sonetimes hard to draw characters if their personality and appearance isn't very clear. I often have that issue when I'd like to do a scene. Either it's the appearance or then the setting.
Haha, *eyes Shahrndahr*, no, they just come to you. (I still haven't drawn him but his name is a good test of concentration both in reading and spelling. )
