I think I got a liiittle better at Photoshop compared to my previous reference sheet of Cylmani (except regarding the shadows of the feather). Either way, this here is the reference sheet for my beloved Dynaisajia, a creature I can identify with very, very well. She embodies feelings I have had for a long time, and she can shapeshift between the two animals that I have felt a strong connection to for nearly all my life.Nearly all markings are identical regardless of the appearance she takes. Exceptions are the ears (hawk doesn't have visible ears, obviously), markings towards the nose (fox), shoulders/wings (in winged fox form both markings are present) and the tail (only the middle tail feather is identical to the fox's tail marking-wise, the other tail feathers are just banded).
Her pupils as a fox can change just like a cat's depending on the light intensity outside.
The tiny watches you see and the feather are items that are all on my desk right now.

Oh woow, she is absolutely amazing! Her designe is simple but absolutely stunning! I will have so much fun drawing her! And also, I'd love to draw her with wings. I will make this drawing as detailed as my program will let me. Haha!

Such a simple yet beautiful design. She really involves all the three things you really like. Does her name mean something? It took me a while to figure out how to read it. It was a bit difficult for my Finnish mouth xD I love the idea of the little watches there.

jia was something my head said would fit after it, since I didn't like just Dynaisa (and my name secret would be too obvious too). Afterward someone pointed out that jia is just jikan, the Japanese word for time, without the last two consonants, and it surprised me to see this is actually true. The best part is that I knew about the existence of the word, as I've used it before here. I might've just chosen that final part subconsciously.

I'm in love with her wings, they are so beautiful! Her eyes are also very interesting. Foxes and hawks are amazing animals ^^ I really wanna see more of this character, her story sounds so interesting ^^ and now I really wanna make a ref. sheet for my chara's too xD

Heehee, I started making reference sheets because I thought that would be easier for others during gifts, trades and contest prizes, but I soon realised they are also very helpful to myself.

Love it! Very nice ref-sheet, but also a very interesting character. I too have dreamt of being able to change the flow of time, but things simply are the way they are. Accept it, or die. Thats basically the thing with life. So I am on the accepting-road now, my signature isnt what it is for no reason. Glad to learn from you that you have also found that road.

I'm not always very good at constructive criticism which is why I don't always comment on things, but I just wanted to say I really like this picture. I feel inspired in a way to make a fox character myself. Maybe to draw but to also write about.

Wings are indeed quite tricky, but they're much easier once you know how they work. There's a great tutorial here on deviantART that taught me a lot about them.

I was thinking a few days ago that I need to be a bit more challenged so perhaps I'll start practicing on wings and look up tutorials to get some ideas

Definitely! It's great to try things you find difficult, that usually the way to improve.
I actually thought white creatures were very difficult too, to get their shadows to look natural, so I guess Dynaisajia gave me an opportunity to practice this, too.

Mmm I use to find the things I do now challenging but I've improved in those areas sometimes they still aren't overlyΒ perfect but I don't always feel like I'm challenging myself enough lately.
Yes, white characters are hard. I should probably try to practice doing shading on my drawings as well in general. I think you've pulled it off well though

Really creative design! The headshots in the corner and the eyes at the bottom are super realistc. I like the little clock-like things and the feather, too, it's a nice touch. :3 Only suggestion is that, for the feather shadow, maybe make it black or dark brown and turn down the opacity so it looks more opaque; right now it kinda looks like it has a gray glow. Minor nitpick, though; she looks like an interesting character and I look forward to seeing her more!
As a minor side note, it's been forever since I was last active here, and you've improved a lot since then!
