Description From an original watercolor painting - 5"x7" 140 lb hot press watercolor paper. I digitally added the top and bottom strips, from shapes from the turtle's shell, to square the design.

This would make a lovely notecard. Great textures, and the digitally added bit looks quite like the original watercoloring. Very cool.

Thanks! I actually do have this available as a card, only in my other shop, not on DA. ([link] ) - I also have this on a rectangle magnet on the fridge - reminds me to go feed our turtles everyday.

I love turtles, so I think this is beautiful. I really like the variety of texture and colour. The use of his shell for framing is a great touch.

Thanks! And watercolor's weird - I see a lot of control issues in my own work, which probably aren't as obvious in the online versions. But I figure, they are what they are - I learn and move on to the next one.

I love the colors! How did you get the texture? I saw it on other pictures and Im really interested in how to use it

Thanks! The texture is an old trick I read about - salt! I use regular table salt but you can use other kinds as well - just sprinkle it on the paint while it's still wet - varying degrees of wetness will give various results. Definitely try it - it's fun to play with - LOL!
