Description
This is Natsuki Kuga from the anime/manga Mai-HIME. You can see my concept in the Scraps album. She's my favorite from the manga series. I was really pushing for her in the manga. I found her a lot hotter then the lead, Mai. She uses an ice power. Firing ice bullets from her guns.I colored this in a style called 'hard edge airbrush'. It seems to give it a strong comic feel.
I got to say I can't take 100% credit for the pose she is in. I got the idea for the pose from a sketch Fred Perry did in "How to Draw Manga Next Generation Vol. 1". Pretty much the only thing that is the same is the position of the torso. Everything else is all mine. I only mention this, because I believe in giving credit where it's due. I doubt anyone would even ever noticed if I hadn't said something.
I called it cold front, but it also shows off a tiny bit of a hot rear.

Personally found the manga to be a massive insult to her character but cool drawing diffrent strokes for diffrent folks I suppose right?

As opposed to the anime that made her little else then yuri fodder?

Or as opposed to the manga that made her more vain and had her get in the way of Mai and Tate's relationship or completly ignore Shizuru who went out of her way to help Natsuki despite not having any Hime powers in the manga. The manga also went out of its way for needless nudity and when a key was killed in the manga they could just get a new one where in the anime when a Hime's key was killed the Hime lost their powers for good which adds a bit to the drama the whole how far is one willing to go for those that they love. (except at the end)And the whole yuri thing has its own subplot where as in the anime she barely interacted with Tate how the hell they got a Tate X Natsuki pairing is beyond me.

I loved her character in Mai-Hime (I only saw the anime). Her story was one of the more interesting stories that I followed closely (besides Akira, Nao, and Mikoto). Great job on the the pose, but I also need to congratulate you on the work you did on the ice and the detail you put in her weapons.

Yeah I had a bit of free time and zipped through this, though the coloring is a lil' sloppy.
