Portrait of Ophiurida is fractal art created in Apophysis 7x.15.

Ophiurida is a group of starfish-like sea animals also known as brittle stars. If one of their arms breaks off, they simply grow a new one!
Brittle stars can be of many different sizes and colours.

Many thanks to my friend Graham Young, Curator of Geology and Paleontology at The Manitoba Museum in Winnipeg, Canada, for his help in naming this picture!

I used the interesting Maya Script by Desiderius and ValΓ©rie Ducom.

This is cool! It kind of looks like a big nest of snakes or worms. It looks alive!

Apophysis and many other good fractal programs are available as free downloads on the Internet. You don't have any program at all, so far? Apophysis is one of the more challenging fractal programs, I find. I'm glad I didn't start with it. Some people do, though. By now, I love Apohysis! You may find that once you have the software, ideas will come by themselves. Fractals have a life of their own, to some extent. They sometimes go in directions you never thought of! I just made an amazingly creepy, X-Files type fractal, which I haven't posted yet. This isn't normally my style, but the fractal insisted on being made!

I found XaoS wich I'm working with I did'nt come right with Apophysis somehow searching for some Tutorials in the moment just to get some exercise it'll take a few month until I know how to make some good fractals I believe

I'm not familiar with XaoS. I like the fractals you've made! Tutorials are always a big help. I need to do some more reading myself.

I think we never stop learning - so enjoy the learning process too! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your fractals.

Good! This could be a cousin of your feather star. In nature, they're related.
