Description Miss Linnypops. She is sad some times but soon she will laugh and play and work and bake oat meal cookies again.

This is in a way a self portrait. Someone created the alter ego for me and I just followed along.

THis was in scraps for a while but I feel she deserves a place in the gellery.

I grew up reading Beatrix Potter books and loved her drawings. This totally reminds me of her work, awesome job!

Thank you. I tend to identfy with rabbits sometimes. If that is good or bad I do not really know.

If identifying with rabbits causes you to draw lovely things such as this then I'd say it's a good thing

It is of course a joy to hear that.

Thus, have you ever uploaded something herr on da, and thought that noone was gonna care about it because you yourself is isecure about the quality of it, and it gets loads of favs and clicks and all that?

This and my other recent picture were just lik that. People obviously like them, I had no idea they would. The three pictures I uploaded before that barely got any attention from anyone at all and I had been so sure that at least one of them would be a "hit" because I had worked quite hard on all of them. I should never do marketing.

Oh yes, happens all the time, I've quite a few works that I'm really proud of that nobody here cares about, and some works (mainly fan art) that don't mean a thing to me but get hundreds of favs

It is downheartening but the world of art is the viewer's world. And the customer's if one is on a proffessional level. I just wish I knew how to get peoples attention and still do stuff I want to do. You sure are better at that.

or maybe you're just more sophisticated than I am ;D 80% of the attention I've been getting lately is because of the portrait of Benedict Cumberbatch I did, and certainly not because it's such a particularly great piece of art

The Benedict question is probably about the right man at the right place at the right time. Everyone wants to look at Benedict Cumberbatch because it is not every day that one finds a man who looks like a real life elf. Your portrait, to my judgement, is very good compared to much of the high ranked stuff I find here on da, so it does not suprise me that people want to see it. And I do not think it is a bad portrait at all, by the way.

Sophisticated but lazy

Yes, his face is so unusual

But hey, you don't draw for dA, you draw because you enjoy it (but yes, attention is great)! I'm going to do a feature when I get 300 watchers (7 to go!) and I'll feature you, perhaps I can get you some more pageviews.
