Description
I recently was inspired to do some Harry Potter fanart. I guess I'm a little late to this bandwagon (like by ten years or something), but I thought it'd be fun, suddenly. And it was! Woo!Harry and Ron. Yep.

Very cute! I adore the way you did Hedwig and the expressions on both the boys are perfect. :3

I adore this~ So cute! And I love the portrait-frame style you did. I'd love to see one for each House.

Thanks! I guess I'm not familiar enough with some characters from each House. I'm working on a Hermione, Hagrid, Draco, and Snape, because they all seem like they'd be so fun... I'm not sure if I'll go much farther than that, though. Harry Potter is a lot of fun, but I'm not as into the series as a lot of people are.

That's fair! I grew up with Harry Potter, right from when it first came out in Britain, before the craze hit Canada, so I've been able to following it as it grew. It doesn't hurt that I had studied a lot of the subject matter on my own before I'd even heard of Harry Potter, so a lot of the references to historical and occult and mythology was very familiar to me already - makes remembering the details pretty easy.

That's awesome. I heard somewhere that Rawling studied a crapton of alchemy when she wrote those books, and that if you know things about alchemy, there's way more depth in the story. Don't know if that's true though. I started reading HP when it was already really big (I think book 5 was due to come out soon when I started reading the series). Definitely thought it was a lot of fun. The world is amazing, and I think that's what makes it so cool for me to want to draw aspects of it that are so sharp and recognizable.

Yeah, I looove the world setting. I wish she'd focused more on the other houses - and by that I mean, I'd love for her to keep writing in the potter world with a new set of characters, but so far she's writing adult fiction instead.
And yes! I got a lot more out of The Philosopher's Stone, when I read it - especially because Nicholas Flammel was a real alchemist and a lot of the things taught in the classes is actual occult teachings, including a lot of the plays in characters' names and such. ^^

Aww, both of them look a little scared.
But cute, really.

I think that if I went to Hogwarts, I'd always be at least a little scared. Professors try to kill you there. >>;
