Witness the power of nature...

A gorgeous day with nothing but blue skies outside, so I wrote a quick tutorial on how to give your blue sky images a little more punch! I know this is sort of an oddly-specific tutorial, but bear with me. It provides a simple editing solution on how to enhance your skies without messing up your foreground or doing any fancy masking. Click the link below to view the tutorial, or check out www.framedbynature.net/tutoria… for more photo tips!

Happy to share any knowledge that may benefit others I may start producing more mini-tutorials like this. Have to work up to writing the star trail tutorial, which will be a bit longer and more in-depth

And if you don't want to edit your picture, polarizing filters can make miracles sometimes

They most certainly can! Recently sold my polarizer along with my wide angle though, so I suppose that's why I've been missing the deep blues

I like that you comment about not editing before submitting to, say, a newspaper.Β  I work for a newspaper and we'll edit the photos for you, and it's better if we do it because we know what we're going for to make sure it prints well.Β

Haha I'm sure. I know a few people who work for newspapers around here so I figured that bit would be appreciated

Haha darn. PS is nice and ideally you wouldn't need it to enhance photos. Sometimes I just get bored and want to create "art" though

Some pretty phenomenal things can be achieved with Photoshop (as I'm sure you know). I used to be afraid of it, opting for simpler programs like Paint.NET. But after a long time of slowly acclimating to it, I've learned to use the program and its features quite well. It's definitely worth the time and effort to learn it.

well that's just it.. I don't have a lot of time.. and the older I get the less effort I'm willing to expend lol..
