Inspired by a "You might be a Redneck Ranger" thread on the Cafe, the idea of Rangery mud flaps was born, and I decided I just had to create a picture of one. Based on the common "Mud Flap Girl" that you see on so many trucks, this is the Gadget version. It's been toned down quite a bit from the norm to make it much more acceptable, thickening the waist, reducing the breast, and even adding the outline of sleaves to indicate that she's still wearing her trademark overalls. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, especially considering that I didn't use any reference pictures and pretty much got the outline right on the first try. Bet that will never happen again!

The ear is wrong. In profile, it should not stick out that far, and if it did, its curvature would be different. You should also probably be able to see the collar of her coveralls, which would enhance recognizability as well. Otherwise it looks good.

Hmm... Looking at some screen captures that have Gadget in profile like that, you're probably right. Her ear is shaped a bit wrong, although I think its position is correct. The collar sticking out in front would help, but I hadn't thought of that at the time. Being a silhouette, her hair hides the collar in back, and I didn't even think about the front. I didn't really even use any models for it, since it was only meant to be used in a small, quick joke. I simply did what I thought looked good. At least you can tell she's wearing coveralls.

If I had a truck, I'd get these special made for it. Probably freak a few people out in traffic. "Oh great, another truck with mud flap girls... wait a minute, sleeves... goggles, mouse ears; it's Gadget!"
