I've always loved drawing them as a kid so I figured I'd be decent at it now, despite the long break. There are a few good tutorials out there if you want to learn though

That's so awesome! It's rad you're getting back into it!
Definitely, I've been trying to do it more with my own paintings because watercolor gives me an excuse not to have all the shapes perfectly defined. Haha

Haha oh yeah, watercolors are more forgiving with the shaping aspect, I want to give them a try soon since I loved them quite a lot before. Oh, I see you've only joined DA recently so welcome! Β

Thank you Most of my drawings could do with a bit more attention to detail, especially with the shading part but I'm often a little too anxious to get on with something else.

amazing! this is simply amazing!
i can't believe that this is a doodle. but really nice job. The shading is really nice
and the soft/ light color work that you have add there is quite a very nice touche.Β
thump up as well on the Oak tree in general. really wow....

Thank you Well, it took about 20-ish minutes so I'm not sure that I can qualify it as a doodle. Trees were one of my favorite things to draw as a kid (along with monsters) so I finally decided to revisit that. I did take the shading tip for the leaves from a tutorial though, that would have taken me entirely too long if I had gone about it differently, I think.Β

They can be a lot of fun and I'd like to learn how to draw many different kinds like willows, pine trees etc. There are so many things I want to draw but so little time haha, I'll probably have to start writing the ideas down
