Description Now with Tyrannosaurus rex for scale. Skeletal diagram of the infamous monster that attacked Japan in 1954. The exact relationship of Gojira to other tetrapods remains uncertain due to its severe deformity and mutation. Dr. Yamane suggested it was a marine reptile of some sort that existed since the Cretaceous (not a dinosaur as most people believe). He implied it was preserved in hibernation until Hydrogen bomb testing awoke it and sent it on its rampage after mentioning that sand collected from its tracks was identical to Cretaceous strata in the area. By contrast, elder natives of Odo Island remember raids by Gojira that resulted in poor fishing and led to ritual sacrifices in an attempt to appease the beast-god. This indicates that Gojira was a living species of animal that spent extended periods of time in hibernation beneath the sea and occasionally awoke to eat, wander about, and destroy anything in its path. The H-bomb may have served as a catalyst to enrage and mutate the great creature and resulted in its distinctive keloid scars that provided a roughened skin texture. Overall, Gojira resembles a theropod dinosaur, but the presence of ear flaps and a semi-opposable thumb is compatible with the hypothesis that it is an aberrant synapsid. The skelton of Gojira is reasonably well known as documentary film recorded during Dr. Serizawa's suicide dive to deliver the Oxygen destroyer to the resting Gojira at the bottom of Tokyo Bay records the final moments of this unique creature before it ultimately dissolved and was lost forever.

Actually, I think the guy was insulting the rubber suit itself, so linking him to the raptorization piece is pointless, because he is obviously a g'98 fanboy.

Yeah, pretty much. GINO fanboys are impossible to take seriously.

However, I linked him to the ICHF Godzilla essay, not the raptorization one.

And even if he isn't a GINO fanboy (to be clear, I am a fan of Zilla the kaiju, but not the movie itself), he's still a prick for saying that stuff, and told him that. I don't care if you don't like Godzilla, that's fine, but you don't have to insult him or his character like that. Hell, you should get the facts straight as well, because I am aware most of the suit actors who do suitmation aren't "fat guys in rubber suits", like this turd mentioned.

Yeah, that was my bad, but as you can see, the guy hates Godzilla anyway, so trying to show him something like that is a bit pointless.

I like Zilla too. I just hate it when people have the gall to suggest that his film is better than G54.

That's what I was trying to do as well. Can't stand when people talk shit about Godzilla. Pisses me off.Β  Β

Yeah, I think it's best we leave the guy alone. He'll never know just wonderful the Godzilla series like we G-fans do.

It's customary to make a real post and then link to relevant information, not just send a link to a giant wall of text and just say 'read this' like some kind of adolescent pseudo-intellectual.Β

It is also customary to not be an asshole, but you, unfortunately, didn't get the memo. The guy was linking to a Godzilla piece done by another friend, but since you have be a arrogant prick, and not a fan of the original creature, that was a mute point.

interesting how the body is very saurischian, but the skull is quite mammal-like in the jaw joint anatomy and zygomatic arch.

Yeah, he's an interesting mixture of all sorts of features. It's part of what makes him so interesting I think.

It's about time someone design a realistic skeletal structure for this guy (with how crazy he looks fully fleshed, you'd have to wonder what his bare bones would look like) Excellent job!

Many thanks. I was surprised to see nobody else has done a skeletal restoration of the mighty Gojira yet. Or at least not on DA it seems.
