This photo really makes me smile, and why, I really don't know. Maybe it's because it's so simple, but it conveys life in many good and sweet ways. There are people out there that wish to be carers, but really don't care, but truly sometimes we come along angels that are nice and do what they can for the people they love. I really, really love this photo.

I think this is the best DD and one of the best photographs I've ever seen in my life.
I know you keep hearing this, but this is just amazingly touching.
Maybe it's because my grandma is in the hospital right now, at the edge of life...But I just can't get over just how sweet this picture is and the way the old man smiles is just...
Thanks for taking this picture to show the world <3

I think this is well deserving of a DD, people like the tattooed guy in the photos are living heros and most of what they do goes unrecognised.

beautiful. if i had my way, i'd rather this be in the photojournalism genre under documentary.

it's really depicting life as it is and the beauty of it.

In actual fact, it doesn't matter what camera's used. the picture clearly showed me the sincerity and the love and contrast between grandfather and grandchild.

Absolutely beautiful. well done.

Made me cry, honest, like no other piece ever did. This is just so beautiful, the old man reminds of my Greatgrandfather, seems to be around the same age he was. It was not an easy task to take care of him, one of the reasons I admire my Grandmother, she'd do it almost all on her own. Then it was our turn to take care of her a few months after he passed away when se was diagnosed with kidney cancer, both gone now, I've gotta say that was a tough year but it did change the way I see life now and it did make me grow up, by the end I looked at my reflection in the mirror and realized I was no longer a girl.

this photo is the best photo I had seen in a long time since I discovered DoisneauΒ΄s work. ItΒ΄s sincere, aunthentical and just shows a tender moment.

But it is so wonderfull that it seems worked out previously, the strong guy, hardcore tatooΒ΄s (I also have tatooes xD), the piercings, etc. But the guy is just bathing his ol'gramps his a good grand child a good human. Making you think that what you see is not always real, something like when you see Crash the movie in which prejudice is thrown away.

I really liked this photo, the best if seen in dev.

Thanks for sharing this photo with us (dev community & internet). I'm sure it made lots of people as happy as it made me

Wow, what a gorgeous shot. Goes to show that the subject and message is often much more important than anything else in photography. I'm not a big expert in photography (I did take classes in college and university but it's never been my cup of tea) but I think that any flaws in this photo becomes its strong points because the message is so strong you go right passed them.

Amazing work, amazing subject, touching message and much deserved as a DD. Congratulations.

*ssssiiiip* I ADORE Supernatural. Been getting all the seasons and am starting Season 2 (staying away from Season 5 on tv right now). Dean = awesomeness in a can.

Yeah it's a great DD. I'm not big on photography but I truly love this. It's the kind of photo I wanted to take when taking photography classes in college and university... Instead I took photos of street signs and satisfied myself with the overdone blandness. lol

I love Supernatural. Been following since Season 1, though after about Season 1/mid-season 2, personally I thought the show started to suck a bit, but meh. Dean is, indeed, awesomeness in a can. Though he and Sam are not my favorite characters of the show.

It takes a very strong, and sweet person to help take care of someone who is elderly or disabled, I love this picture. Because, even though the bath might me awkward for both of them, they're both making the best of it. It's very cute, and very touching.

What a beautiful piece. It's so thoroughly well executed and speaks to anyone who has seen someone in a condition that alters their life entirely. I used to volunteer to work with the elderly so I can really relate to this photograph.

The compassion and sense of duty in some people is admirable. I've always thought that good hearted people are always the most attractive, not the bad boys. Which is why it's interesting to look specifically at this. Chadd has the rough and gruff look of a mean guy, but obviously maintains a heart of gold.

You have a good son, someone well deserving of being proud of. In this single photograph, he has proven his worth in more ways than people I've known for years. You've done your job as a parent well, my friend.

This is such a wonderful piece β€” one that really strikes a chord to many, including myself.
My grandmother has lived with my family since I was born, and for as long as I can remember, she's raised me with my mother, to be the guy I am today. As time went on, our roles reversed; as I became more able to do things myself, she developed ailments which prevented her from doing as much.

For about 4 years now, I've helped her with various tasks, from simply getting her something to eat, to helping her have a shower, and applying cream to her feet and legs to ease the soreness she feels.
It's nothing that I am ashamed of, but I can understand why it may be uncomfortable for some to hear about.

About a month ago she went into hospital, and since, she's become even less able than before. We've reached a new level of the things we have to do for her.
It's been tough, and very draining, but seeing this picture really fills me back up. It reminds me of why I do what I do, and that there really is something wonderful in doing what's necessary to help β€” even if it's something that others would consider "embarassing".

Thanks so much
