as a person who lost a grandpa few months ago it really gave me chills.
he broke his hip and his son, my uncle, gave him baths every day...
really strong feelings and huge amount of chillings along the back.

Ah, sorry to hear about that... I lost my Grandmother back in November.... Hard blow, huh? She'd been in hospital since June, I ended up practically missing my birthday through all the hospital visits... Who wants to get older anyway?
It's only one day closer to the end.... But one day closer to everyone that's left you behind when they moved on, and that..... Is quite beautiful, that you're bound to see 'em again, and it wil be wonderful, but its not time just yet.

Seeing this has really touched my heart aswell. Unfortunatley I wasn't able to spend that much time with any of my grandparents like I wished that I could have before they all went on to the next life, but seeing this makes me wanna go back to those days where I used to atlest have high hopes of helping my grandmother in the kitchen cooking her well known recipies for the rest of the family when I was four.
Chad, it's people like you that we need to have more of in the world, strong and some what of a hard and serious exterior but and yet at the same time able to have the heart of a good samaritan with sensitivity for others, almost like a gentle giant^_^.

This is beautiful. This shows that humans can be kind and how powerful that is, sometimes I think we forget. Even the fact it shows a man being kind is a rare thing.
DA has so many pretty girls and so little beauty. Strange that one of the other DD's on the same day is a bunch of pretty people dismbering each other and the artist didnt feel that would be controversial.

Sometimes, it is not about the quality of the photo, but the quality of the subject itself.
I think I speak for many people when I say that the human quality captured in this photograph is more than deserving for a DD. These are the scenarios that constantly restore my faith in humanity and remind me that we are not all as destructive (self or otherwise) despite everything we see and hear.

I don't know how any of this can rub anyone the wrong way- photography bears different meaning to different people. What I love about the peice is how we've all been there before- how devoted we are to our loved ones. This is something people should not forget- art isn't all about the glamour
