Description
I would've added a bit more life to the city itself; i.e. traffic, both cars and pedestrians, but it would have just complicated the image a little and caused it to take forever and a day to render. I'm just pretending that the street was evacuated when the fight broke out.Related content

The two most important things that I've discovered are, first of all, lighting, because that's really all we do as 3D artists is paint with light. Second, and most important of all if you want to get some semblance of realism, is depth of field, which can easily be achieved with the lens blur filter in Photoshop.

I totally agree, I am really learning about how to use multiple lights to make it look like shiny, less garish and a little more realistic. I wish I could find a really good light set that does that without absolutely killing my processor

One technique I've been trying more and more is doing multiple renders, each with their own light set, then merging the separate layers in Photoshop. It takes practice to the the result you want, but I found it fairly interesting when I tried it.

I would actually LOVE to go to school and learn how to do that, if not for one thing. If how long it takes me to do a single frame image is any indication, it would take so long to actually MAKE a video game that I would never have time to PLAY them anymore, and I love playing games way too much to give it up.

I wish I had that level of talent. No, I just do these for fun. I don't even sell prints of the stuff I'm 100% responsible for from texture to final rendering. Not why I'm in it.
On a side note, this is really a teaser image for my completed Hulk figure that I've been working on some time. All it's missing is some decent pants that fit Freak 4. Or, at least, a pair that fit enough that I can tweak them a bit in Photoshop to make them right.
