Description This map shows the geopolitacal context of Akavir in 3E 290, the time of the last Cyrodiilic "colonisation"
Version Française : fredoric1001.deviantart.com/ar…

So this map is to be considerate as a fan-art and all the lore aspect i will explain bellow is mostly fan-fiction, but I tried to respect the TES lore, and create something coherent.

The 4 main Nations are :
In Green, The Tsaesci Empire.
In Red, The Ka Po'Tun Empire.
In Beige, The Tang Mo Kingdom.
In Light Blue, the Kamal realm, savage and populated by "Snow Demons".

Others smallest entities :
In Pink, The Imperial Porvince Of Akavir, the lands conquered by Uriel Septim V.
In Whithe, The Atmoran Kingdom, in Kamal, lands occupied by some mens who flees Atmora during the late Merethic Era.
In Yellow, Purple, and Orange, three city-states. Respectivly Chimnith, founded by some Chimer navigators, Ohadhax, under Ka Po'Tun authority, and Kamala, a dissident Atmoran city-state.

Lore Aspects :
Akavir is the homeland of the Dragons of Nirn. Like Skyrim in Tamriel, the Akavir dragons once dominated the other races that coexisted with them, before their superiority decline. Enslaved by the Tsaesci (Snake-men) or emprisoned as idols by the Po'Tun (Tiger-Man), the dragons eventually disappeared during the Third Era.

For the sources of inspiration, according to what has already been established by the official Lore of the Elder Scolls series, Akavir is inspired by Far Eastern cultures. Thus, Tsaesci society is officially inspired by ancient Japanese civilization/culture. For the other Nations of Akavir, the little information allows me a more personal interpretation : I imagine Ka Po'Tun inspired rather from ancient China, and Tang Mo inspired by Polynesian culture. As for Kamal, being rather an inhospitable land, there is no real civilization / dominant culture.

It is my own interpretation after many hours playing the Elder Scrolls Games and DLCs, and using all official information on the web, and using a lot of imagination too ^^

I adore these maps, I get the impression they were made by someone who's had good fun making them.

Hello, I made an account just to write a comment under this amazing artwork, is truly makes Akavir the possible for a single game (As most of the others are so big that you would need several games to complete it), maximum two. And i have some things to say/ask:

1. Is it lore friendly that there are Atmorans and Chimer (Now Dunmer) living here?

2.Can you tell me any territory comparison? I just really wanna know the scale of this (For example the Ka'Po'Tun territory is as big as Valenwood, something like this)

3. This is the only thing i don't like about this map: The islands are too close. In the pocket guide to the empire, it's wrote that it took several years to conquer each of the isands (Approx 1-2 years for each island) and them being so close would make it look silly. Cathonoquey, Estroniet and Ynslea should be really far away from each other.

4. What's the star marking with the name Tosh Raka? If i remember correctly Tosh Raka is the leader of the Ka'Po'Tun who became a dragon. Is it like a temple/shrine dedicated to him?

Everything else is amazing, keep up the good work. I wish you had more non-Tamriel maps like the Moonshadow one.
Maybe make Thras next? It's really small and really could be like your Moonshadow one. Aldmeris also would be cool.

Thank for your comment ^^ and for creating an account for that

concerning your question :

1 : It is lore friendly in the sens of there is no contradiction with the offical lore (not that i know of at least) but yes there is also nothing in the lore that suggest that, it is a personal add to the lore based ont the facts thats the way i see Nirn, Akavir is as far from Atmora (north pole) thant Tamriel is, so i assumed that there were multiple expedition in order to flee Atmora, one of them reaching north of Akavir, like in the north of Tamriel. Secondly, the Aldmers were great explorer and navigators back in the merethic area, so i assumed that some of the aldmer/chimer, from east of Tamriel could have reach Akavir to and set up some colonies, but at the time of this map, they are only ruling on the small city-state of Chimnith, under Tsaesci's protection. But as i said, both of this explainations are based on my reflexion and imagination and is to considerate as a fan-fiction ^^

2 : I draw the map of akavir with the same map dimension as my tamriel map, so the scale is the same for both map, you can superpose both map to compare the size of the continents. So with more sees and ocean on this map that on the tamriel one, Akavir is a little bit smaller that Tamriel in term of superficies, but approximately the same size North-South and Est-West.

3 : to be honest i didn't look on what could be the distance between the islands on the lore, so yes they can be more distant from each others. But on the other hand, 1 or 2 year could be coherent to reach an island and establish some settlements/strongholds before leaving to conquest the next one.

4 : You guess it right, to me "Tosh Raka" it is the mountain were "Tosh Raka" (the man-tiger) became a Dragon, it's one of the highest mountain of Akavir just as the Hight Hrothgar. But did the mountain get it's name from the "Man-Tiger" or did HE take the same name as the mountain ? it's a mystery i don't want to answere XD

For my next map, i will make a more fictional one like this one yes, but i didn't know which one exactly. I tend to start many maps and i don't know which one will be the first to be finished, or even when ^^' But i didn't think of Aldmeris or Thras, sry, probably an other Oblivion Realm ^^

I hope i answer all you question ^^

Yeah, again, this drawing is amazing. Now it's my favourire representation of Akavir.

About point 3, quote from uesp "Uriel V conquered Roscrea in 271, Cathnoquey in 276, Yneslea in 279, and Esroniet in 284." So 5, 3 and 5 years.
From lore Uriel V was known for his love for war, so i doubt he'd spend 1-2 years to establish a colony, he'd leave it to a councellor or something.

Also, i noticed something new. Some settlements have a colored square for their marker (Like Ban'Zu (Tang Mo) or Moexi (Ka'Po'Tun)) and some even two (Like Shanexi (Tsaesci - Ka'Po'Tun)), what is it?

Sorry about the 4month to respond XD

The square are more military colonies/stronghold with some settlement around.
And yes there is some double square. You may have noticed the thick red line between Tsaeci and Ka Po'Tun, it's a great wall build by the Ka Po'Tun to keep everyone on their side ^^ Tsaecis build some fortification too on both end of this wall
