This is a map of the Star Wars galaxy on the eve the Sith-Imperial War. This map is irrelevant due to the fact that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has erased the expanded universe from existence, or at least relevancy, but it is still a cool map.Related content

They do control it. They're just within the empire's sphere of influence.
