The interaction between the two characters you've portrait here is absoulutely astounding. You're skill as a painter really has braught this piece to life. The expression on the human is priceless, the eyes definately say it all which I think is very hard to achieve considering that is the only facial feature you're able to see here. I also have a soft spot for robots and this one here has my heart screaming for mercy. The poor thing. It looks as if it is able to complrehend exactly what is happening, just like th ehuman it is trying to protect.

this one strikes me as being very reminessant of Iron Giant (Not just in the structure of the robot either, the whole theme from the movie seems to be echoed here.) Mind you, this is not a bad thing. This is an excellant and (to me at least) quite emotionally powerful piece of artwork.

This is absolutely amazing and I could sit and look at it for hours on end. The sadness that you have conveyed in the robot's eyes is special and also the look of fear in the girl's eyes as if some unseen force is coming to take her away.

Thats completley incredible, congratulations on getting a DD too. I must say Im very fond of the robot; the shying pose and fearful expression are so contradictory to the fact its a heavy mechanical robot.

this is just amazing... there's so much emotion in both the charaters, and that's really somthing co0nsidering one of them's a robot. you really get the sense that the pair of them are bearing witness to something hurrendouse and the dramatic back drop really works with that idea.

From cgtalk: Ahh yes, I remember this one. I love the foreground everything is so nicely rendered, looks so...palpable, especially the mech's fingers/hand. But where has the rest of the background gone? I think I preferred the last version, when it showed a little more of the background above the mech's head. I don't know why, think its a composition thing, as it just looked more balanced and less crowded than it is now. Maybe you just cropped in so the focus was on the part you were more pleased with (foreground)?
The combination of the girl's scared/frightened look and the reflection in the mech's eyes really shows the terrifying destruction they are witnessing. Makes me want to look at it too. As others had mentioned, really great emotion here, but I'm curious of the story behind this scene. Brilliant job -
