Description So cute - so tiny. this is one of the baby toads i rescued. I don't think it needed rescuing, it was trying to leave home! But i couldn't waste a photo opportunity - took lots! Then i put it in the pond - it will probably try to leave home again tomorrow

Look how tiny it is against my fingers! so sweet

Wow - what a tiny little fellow! I imagine he hated having to make that trek all the way back across the yard again.

It's so cute! I love frogs and toads. I had to give my pet toads away when I moved. Like Khalla said, toads probably wouldn't like water since they can't swim like frogs. It's so adorible and tiny! I always want to call the small toads babies too when really they're full-grown considering they're babies when they're tadpoles. Great photo!

They look more like toads than frogs because of the rougher skin. Building the pond probably lured them in because it's a prominant water sorce. Bugs like water and toads like bugs, so as long as you have a pond you'll be able to find your little buddies! My friend built a pond one day and found tadpoles in it. It was so cute so see them swimming around with only two rear legs. Your garden must be beautiful now that it seems to be attracting so much wildlife. And again, really sweet picture!

:Aww: thanks Do ya reckon they must be frogs then cos they swim so fast - they have been in the water around my grasses til yesterday - then they started fleeing the nest?

I have never had them in my garden before because i only built the pond last year - had an adult last year, after the breeding season! looks like they liked it so much that they came back this year.

It is wonderful to watch them! Ok, they are toddlers then not babies

Thanks again for your comments

ah! o.o putting them in a pond is a bad idea... *nod* me and a friend dumped a ton in a pond only to watch the fish come up and devour them ALLLLL

Nah, it grew up in the pond - and my fish have left them alone. Have you looked at the pictures i took of the parents too? They'll chase the fish off
