*FrankieVonDrake 's Jules Brown and my Wombat, Wilhelmina Womack after a hard days work at the Solbakken-residence.Question is whether they're at summer-holiday with the Solbakken-family or if it's an exceptional warm summer-day in Norway, will remain unknown.
But they DO need a break, working for the big man.

They are such an adorable couple, and this drawing is beautiful. I seriously love the coloring here. The shading on the clothes and the different textures on her fur and his feathers... especially Willy's hair. I adore this. The shadow of the tree I assume they're snoozing under is a lovely touch, too.

But I'm glad it turned out so well, and I'm glad people are digging these two ^^
I really do not have patience for colouring and shadowing, so when I finally do, I'm glad to see people appreciating it, thanks ^^

It's funny, 'cause I *get* that it's not actually easy and all, but you do all these new things so quickly and it makes it LOOK easy (whether you intend to or not) because they always come out looking great. There's never a sign of a learning curve, they're just great out the door and then they get better. BASK IN MY PRAISE!
I'm not jealous or bitter, just really really impressed and my usual way of showing it is to pretend to be jealous and bitter. XD I do apologize though if it ever makes you uncomfortable.

Like I already said in my response to your journal, I love how you keep experimenting with new techniques, yet they blend in seamlessly with your style.
I really like how peaceful this scenario turned out, which is emphasized by the sketchiness of the background and the color transition in it as well as by the way of shading certain parts, e.g. Wilhelmina's socks. Did you use a brush to get the watercolor-y effect?

Well, yeah I kinda did - I went into the brush-section, found one of them 'spotty'-brushes and then used that - I prefer those to the more smooth ones as they give a more rough look/shadows.

This is such a serene and lovely piece. You really get the feel of being totally relaxed in the sun with no pressing engagements ahead of you. Long story short, I luvs it!

Thanks - yeah, have to admit, these are the kind of pieces I really like, but they just take so much more time, what with needed to be drawn with pencil, then scanned, the drawn up again on the computer, and THEN the colouring... Hella much work, considering my lack of patience XD.
