Description Frogger, an arcade game from the golden age. It's easy to forget that it's by Konami. Over the last decade or so, Konami gave Frogger a makeover and a whole cast of friends and enemies.

But we shall always remember dodging traffic and jumping on logs...

At least Konami didn't take away the style of game play that we remember.  Even in games such as Ancient Shadow and Helmet Chaos, the game play style and mechanics were still the same - dodging stuff and getting to the goal.  What was added was basically the use of Frogger's tongue to push or pull stuff, adding in a bit of puzzle-solving to the series.  So I doubt Konami forgot what made Frogger special and unique.  They just merely expanded his universe and gave him a personality as well as an identity.

One of the classics. I bet most people don't even realise there's a whole Konami Frogger franchise after the original arcade game.

The only people I know that have played newer Frogger games are me and a friend of mine.

Cool. They should bring back the classic design for a new game soon.

Do you have Frogger Hyper Arcade Edition? You can unlock a Contra stage in it by entering the Konami code!

Frogger's available on just about every computer ever! I think we even had it on the old BBC Micros when I was at school. And that was like a million years ago!

Funny thing is the original arcade game was licensed to Sega for the outside of Japan releases, some some confusingly think Sega made the game. (Even I did admittedly.)

Anyways, nice take on ol' Frogger. I like that game, I think a restaraunt I went to as a kid had one of those old "tabletop"-style arcade Frogger machines there.

Frogger showed up on all kinds of home computers here (which were more commonplace than arcade machines), and so I didn't even know it was an arcade game when I was little, let alone by Konami!

Indeed, it's surprising how many games were originally arcade titles.

I remember playing "VS Super Mario Bros." when I was real little, (and impressing older kids) but I recall the arcade version of SMB came out after the home version, so it was a rare backwords case.
