we are learn from mistakes. there's a quite big discuss under the original artwork (here > greenhouse girl ) about lack of Mature Filter. I'm higly concerned about poor kids that migh be violated by the view of female body with only nipples covered and no sign of vagina (or shoud I say 'bajingo' or 'va-jay-jay'?). someone even reported it, but uh, those lazy admins didn't found it filthy enough to force me to put Mature Filter on it. shame on you admins!
so I learned my lesson and I made 3 censor types that I'll be using from now so everyone will be pleased. can't decide which one I like the most, if you could vote for your favourite one then it will be helpful let's make deviantart a better place!

now for real. some of you noticed that I started to make these funny heart censors for private parts (GENITALIAS!!! :U ) at my drawings. or sometimes I don't. why? why can't I just put mature filter at every picture that contains a nipple? because I don't find it wrong. that's why. I believe that female nipples are as appropriate as male nipples. I believe that human body is beautiful and natural and we shoudn't be shocked by view of breast or butt, we shouldn't tread it as something wrong. It's what we are. So if the character at my picture is not shown in sexual pose then I'm just placing heart stickers on private parts. Seems legit for me. But if the picture has a nudity and sexual themes then I'm putting mature filter on. Deviantart is allowed for userd 13 y/o and above so we are not talking about toddlers exposed for the view of nude people. well, even not real people only drawn ones! 13 y/o kids seen worse things, even here at dA, than naked girl with covered nipples and no vagina. it's not vulgar. it's just the body.also if dA staff members rejected the report then it means that I didn't violated service policy. To leave no doubt - I do respect service policy which says that if I want to post drawings that contain nude characters then genitalias have to be covered. here's your appropriate banana

nudity + no sexual theme = heart sticker on genitalias
nudity + sexual theme = Mature Filter on
my english is not fluent enough to start a discussion about using nudity in our society and positive/negative aspects of that. feel free to discuss, but I'll not join you, I made my statement about using censor in my art above. And be like Bill

Because women are crazy hypersexualized and we get little whiney crybabies here where if they see a titty THEY MUST PROTECT THE YOUNG PEOPLE. Look. I wouldn't want to take my kids to a strip show but if I take them to an art gallery no one is going to be censoring there, No one is going to be censoring every single nipple on the internet either. And deviantart has many photographs of nude women everywhere.
Also personally I'd rather normalise the female body rather than make it fetish or taboo.

"Protect the young people."
I've honestly learned more about...well, stuff, by being very unprotected from the internet and media in general. I guess I just never made a big deal out of it? I mean, I still don't. Let there be nudity, who cares? It's normal, innit? c: And yes, I know, not everyone is the same way with things like this, but...Don't be too uptight and protective. In fact, I'm just gonna ramble on for a bit.
So I'm pretty sure most people have had an awkward conversation about sex or whatever with their parents. Not me, though. I believe I was in the second or third grade, and I saw this (actually legitimate)educational book about sex aimed at children(that mysteriously disappeared later) in our school library, and when you're a small kid, you're like "Dafuq is this 'sex' you speak of?" So later on at home I just ask my mom: "What is sex?" She paused for a moment and looked at me a bit funny before, very nonchalantly, saying: "Hmm...It's something people who love each other do. You'll figure out the rest when you're older." And I did. Clearly, it's not as simple as what she said, but I think it was still a good explanation to a child. And that's where my chillness about censorship started, I guess..? I'm not sure if this relates to...anything, and I forgot why I even wrote this? Oh well. Chill with the excessive censorship, especially the female sort. Aight, we cool? We cool.

a few years ago I had found this picture on tumblr of a shirtless chick, but she also had crappily photoshopped man-chest onto hers, and it said something like "It's okay, these are man nipples"

I'm in the USA and feel that between cultural and societal views, we make nudity sexualized instead of teaching kids and young adults to brace it as natural. A woman can't even breastfed her baby without it being sexualized. People need to just grow up, control their urges, and move on.

I agree with you there is nothing wrong with nudity. However! I like when artist make a censored or covered version as well. I'm not someone who likes looking at nudity, not because "it's wrong" but because if I really like a picture, and I want to buy a print to put on display in my home, i'd prefer it didn't have nudity, out of respect for people who come and visit me often (like my grandparents) and because that's also just not my thing. (this applies to male nudity too, which includes nipples for me)
Either way, your art is amazeballs! and it's nice to know you respect dA and your fans, to make a censored version

The logic of it makes me laugh out of my personal experince.
When I was around 13 or 14 I've eyewitnessed severe car crash near my artschool. There were a lot of injuries and my "I'm gonna be surgeon/pathologist" fetus self decided to help people while they were waiting for ambulance so I've tried to help with 1st aid stuff like stopping blood and keeping them awake. I was shocked by what I've seen but remained calm...
Backstory aside. I've imagined it... maybe way too comic:
Seeing really-really bad stuff happening with people, still having blood on my clothes, going online - OMG NIPPLES!!!! I'm traumatized for life now!!!!!

I agree with you but you know people like about their age if they're to young to have an account, right? And with technology being a big deal now younger and younger people are their hands on it ((i saw a toddler with a smartphone >~<)) and getting access to the internet. And with most people if they are told they can't have something then they go out of their way to get.

I totally agree that it's nuts that exposed girl boobs is something worth censoring, (especially when they're already are) but at the same time I don't think everyone asking for a filter are against freedom of lady's nipples.
I think that some of the people asking for a mature filter are either
a) minors
b) people at work
and usually when parents or bosses sees a woman's nipple on screen they'd assume it's something like porn, thus the viewers would get in trouble for it like being banned from using the internet or fired.
Yes it sucks that people flip their tables over a nipple on a lady and I don't agree that a woman has to cover her chest but I think some folks have good reasons for asking for a "mature filter " as a woman's exposed nipple is still considered "inappropriate" by a large amount of society and those people don't want others to get the wrong idea about them.
