This is really great and I totally backed you! I do have a question about the 10th step, I was trying to follow a long, but I couldn't figure out how to have the soft light just on my picture (since its just kind of scribbled outside of the lines). I didn't see that it was a clipping mask, but I feel like maybe I missed something? Figured I'd ask in case anyone else was wondering too!
Also, any tips on how to block in the first base? Because I always hand color it in and when I select it, it winds up not lining up with the line art as well. :/ I'm really bad at digital art!

This tutorial was a big help! The uniform shadows and manipulated lighting that are created with these tecniques really finalize my character arts. Your tutorial could not have explained it better. Thanks so much.
By the way, what brushes did you use for this?

Osobiście wole jak bardziej widać jaki kolor ma cień. Mi by się podobało jakbyś zmniejszyła opacity do 70-80%. Ale to już raczej kwestia stylu. Bardzo spodobał mi się sposób w jaki dodajesz na końcu światło, muszę wypróbować. c:

Like um... I tried this and such and works really well for me but I'm a little self criticising and it's hard not to consider me doing this cheating :/ Cause I didn't develop the technique myself.
Also would you like to see our attempts at this or would you rather not have us spamming you with shit? ^^
(I realize you're pretty busy so I hope you don't feel bad if you feel the need to respond but is unable to find the time)
Have a good day!

aah, such a lovely tutorial, thank you c:
I was wondering, what kind of brushes do you use for your lineart?
Do you have custom ones, or do you use photoshop's own brushes?
I've been trying to give my own drawing a 'messier/looser' feel, but my lineart always looks so bland :c

I used your tutorial, but sadly, DeviantArt didn't let me post the link to the tutorial, so I posted a link to your profile and the link to the tutorial I had to put down in the comments. I hope that's okay ^^
