Description
I love this book!I have a lot of scrap paper laying around my room so I decided to make a tiny little book and experiment with a round binding. I've never done a book like this before but I like how it came out so I'll probably be doing a lot more like this.
I had originally planned on selling this little guy but I just don't think I can part with him.
*EDIT*
Man, I'm not used to getting this much attention from one deviation. Thank you to everyone who adds this to their favorites or has featured it in their journals. It really means a lot to me

that's awesome! I wanted to learn how to do a round binding, but was never taught. Is it easy? Is it much different than a flat hard bound book?

I sew it the same way that I sew flat binding, but before I add the glue to the bind, I curve it first. It stays nice and round when the glue dries.

This is absolutely adorable. I have a weakness for tiny books. I've made my own, but not with such a well-made binding like this one. You are amazing.

How on earth did you mange to coptic stitch those pages with them being sooooo small! I mean I can cross stitch on tiny count (1/18th of an inch) but to stitch pages together that tiny! I have a hard enough time on normal size pages!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done to you! This should so be a favourite of anyone and everyone!!!

Thanks! This isn't even my smallest book! [link] This one was much smaller. I love making tiny books, they are a challenge AND I can just use the scrap paper from the bigger books I make!

Yes i saw the one on your thumb! I was in awe! I have only just started making my own books (about A5 sized) and they're hard enough! I couldn't image creating a mini-book! I have to say 'hats off to you!'
Oh!, and what a wonderful way to recycle!!

To be fair, I didn't sew the tiny one on my thumb That would just be insane. I just glued the pages together in that one, I wanted to see how small I could go. You should try making a mini book once you get comfortable with the big sizes. They're fun!

I love this. I'm always looking for a book that is unique for me to do my designing doodles in. Of course bigger...I love how eyecatching this is, it just jumped off the page at me.

This is still my favorite of all the books I've made. That butterfly was from a bracelet I bought as a kid.

OMG. This is amazing. It's so cute and the spine looks so perfect. Any chance you'd ever do a tutorial on this? I tried and failed ot make mini books before, so was stuck buying a small book and gluing a less icky cover on it when I need a mini book for a doll. [link]

I actually just messed around with it until I figured it out. I've been making books for about a year now and I've kind of made my own way of doing things. I was thinking about putting together a tutorial but I'm pretty lazy haha

That is absolutely awesome!!
Hrm...
Out of curiosity, could you do these, but with some heavier fabric or something inside? Or, do you think that the paper would hold pins? They look like old-fashioned hand-sewing pin books, but I've failed so badly every time I've tried to make one Sorry for the completely random question XP

If it does even remotely work out, would you take commissions on them? I need to think of something cute to get the rest of the people in my program when I graduate this year, and that would just be amazing...

funkmaster-c In reply to taeliac [2008-01-11 17:47:44 +0000 UTC]
I will definitely let you know how it turns out, and I am more than happy to take commissions. (Heck, I'd like to make one for myself too!)
Do you by any chance have an image of a pin book so I can get an idea of what they look like exactly?

Here is the only one I could find, although it's much larger than I'm used to seeing - [link] usually, they're just large enough to hold a hand sewing needle (approx. 2" tops)
