Description
These are some unfinished animations I've been doing for another project. I thought I'd post them up here so you guys have something to look at. Now, let me remind everyone that these are unfinished and unrefined in movement, and some of them are actually tweaked past this point to something more accurate to what I want, but I haven't got those rendered out yet.Obviously I can't tell you what exactly it's for just yet, but you guy's will like it when it's all ready

I'm wondering how you'll have the frame work set up with the music you're going to use. How does that work btw? The movements look clean though bro. Also, do you use a lightbox?

Basically the way I'm animating it is based on a track we used to show the game's development to the client. I'm going off the beats for that, which in this case is approximately 12 frames a beat. It'll probably change up or down slightly, but we'd just re-time the animation to fit with it all.
I'm putting together a set of short dance sequences like this that'll link together in different ways. As a movement reference I'd say to look at Space Channel 5, though I'm not sure how well the idea for what I doing comes across with it. It's the best reference though.
The original test anims were only stickmen and were all done straight into Toon Boom to work out some of the timing (and give something to show the client), but these ones are all done traditionally on a lightbox since it's a whole lot easier for me this way. I'll ink them up on new sheets or paper and colour them up in Toon Boom before importing to Flash.

XD Haha, very groovin! I especially love the female dance moves. Only thing I noticed is that in the Male: Idle Bopping, his knee and his head hit on the same frame, so you could probably shift one or the other over a couple of frames for overlap. :3

The head and knee hitting on the same beat was intentional - mostly because that's how I found myself doing it in practice. It could also be partly due to some sort of laziness and such, but yeah

The female is my favorite! You don't have much to fix on her at all because she moves so believably! Excellent job!!

hahaha, criss cross, wasn't that back in the 90s? Oh god, now I remember some of the dances, nostalgia kicking in, anyway, I like the animation, smooth and the girl moves her hips nicely.

Mostly cheesy stuff from the 70s and 80s I'm thinking. Sorta like the Starsky and Hutch remake mixed with a few other things.

HAHAHA! Everytime I see "Rootin' & tootin'" I can so easily imagine you (your human avatar, anyway) dancing like that for a laugh or two, and it cracks me up.
