Description If you've been wondering what i've been up to these past several months and why i haven't posted nearly anything, well, here ya go. I've been working on this big fuzzball on and off for a little over a year. Thank gawd it's finally finished. For a while there i wasn't sure i would survive, let alone see it completed.

For those of you wondering wtf this is, this illustration was inspired by the Celtic deity, Cernunnos. Inspired meaning it's not a totally authentic portrayal. As a mythology-buff I feel the need to emphasize that. The one major embellishment is his being a wolfish looking thing-a-ma-bob. Cernunnos is often shown in the company of wolves and other animals, i just took that association to a new level.

And snow! Yes, lots of snow. It's official, I really do love snow. I've always associated snow with beauty and mystery of untamed wilderness. This was instilled on me at a very young age thanks to one WOLVERINE of the X-Men. >_>;;

And BTW: LOOK AT THE DAMN SNAKE! I WORKED HARD ON THAT THING SO YOU COULD AT LEAST NOTICE IT'S THERE!

What strikes me the most about this image is the god's face, it's expression looks so serene, wonderfuly juxtaposes the 'savgery' of it's body.

I love your draw *-*,
and also believe that what you represent has some similarity with the spirit of the forests of "Princess Mononoke", as dragonmatt5 said.

That is really awesome....
And I noticed the snake right away, interesting.

Probably going to get this, but there is a similarity between this creature and the forest spirit from Princess Mononoke...though this looks the more bad ass of the two, hands down.

Yeah, actually. I can't say i wasn't influenced by Princess Mononoke. That whole film really struck a cord for me.

Well can't see why it wouldn't, it was a really well done movie and had a pretty good story. Though the feel of the picture isn't something based off the spirit but more so influenced. The markings, the leafs, the background and the more beast-like nature of it (compared to the more majestic tone of the spirit) fit very well with a celtic creature. Good job with it regardless.
