One look at Seastar and you'll probably assume that she isn't the brightest crayon in the box. And you'd be right. She can be a bit of an airhead and is a total gossip, but there are hearts of gold underneath all the vanity. Make no mistake, though, she's pretty damn vain. Turf wars are fun and all, but what our Valley Girl squid Seastar really wants to do is check out the latest, freshest fashions. And if you aren't wearing them, just know that she'll be talking about you behind your back.

Seastar isn't a total mean girl, though. Even if you don't look fresh, she'd be willing to give you a makeover. She can be helpful, but is easily distracted and sometimes doesn't follow through. One thing she loves is small children - especially little squidlings like Jax. She is always willing to help Galia care for him, but often makes plans with her best friend, Mhyrko , to go cause trouble in Octo Valley, and this is something Jax is not allowed to do (he doesn't even know about it, which is for the best). Seastar definitely hates Octarians! This attitude was taught by her family, but also learned from Mhyrko because of what happened to his mother many years ago. On her own, Seastar would avoid Octarians and Octo Valley completely. It is only through Mhyrko's constant prodding that she continues to venture into hostile territory and stir up trouble.

She doesn't know it, of course, but her friend Galia is helping to keep her and Mhyrko safe! But right now that's a secret, so shhh...

All things considered, Seastar really isn't a bad squid. Deep down she's helpful - at least, she tries to be. She even tried to convince Mhyrko not to continue going to Octo Valley after he was nearly killed, but that didn't work, and she continues to join him out of guilt (though not as often as she used to). Maybe things will change for the better one day.
