Description
A picture of Pyxis, a small Burrowing Owl, eating away. I think he looks rather happy here.Related content

Thank you very much . He's small enough that you can hold him in the palm of your hand as well!

Wouldn't recommend it. Barn owls can be quite large, growing up to 40cm. Whilst not on the same level of eagle owls, they could potentially cause you harm if mishandled. My personal opinion is that no bird of prey should be kept as pets. Of course, if it's a rescue that cannot be returned to the wild, that's another matter .

I see a lot of people owning them though, especially around the states I have. You have to have a license to properly own them, but maybe a smaller owl would be better. It's sort of like a dream pet kind of thing.

Aye, it's only my opinion. I'm from the UK and I think people tend to keep things like that as pets in some places. Wouldn't say it's common here though .
