Description I always thought Luffy would be the one to wipe that smug smirk off of Doflamingo's face. I certainly never expected Law to have Doffy's balls in a vice like that so soon.

It has been stated by Oda that the receivers are not a part of the den den mushis (in one of those SBS where a reader accused Sanji of hurting one by crushing the receiver pre Enies Lobby arc)

i'm actually surprised that no one mentioned vergo here...apart from caesar's asphyxiation technique, he's the only one to show a strawhat his limits until now...i mean he dominated in a kicking duel against sanji!! not to mention he still defeated smoker afterwards...still a bit disappointed in the way he was defeated. how much more haki do you actually need to counter devil powers i wonder? as for monet, i seriously believe she's dead, and to a certain extend even hope she is, because otherwise, the element of death will be even more of a joke as it already is now..it's kind of sad that whenever someone's seriously hurt in one piece, nobody's even worried about them anymore because everyone who knows one piece knows they won't die, so all dramatic or saddening feelings connected to such moments don't really work in one piece as they won't die anyway...but monet has been stabbed in the heart, which means certain death. in all the other "they'll survive anyway"-scenes, it's always lots of broken bones or shots to shoulders, stomach, or right chest, but never in the heart or head, so apart from blood loss, in all the general onepiece-injuries, there really is a chance of survival as long as no organs get injured. Talking of death as a joke: this is also true for caesar's poisonous gas, which he worked so long on, was so proud of that he showed it to the whole underworld, and now it turns out that it was unable to kill even one soul! and i still hope oda's going to explain how kinemon freed himself of the gas' effects as if it were the most normal thing in the world. and don't get me wrong i like kinemon as much as the next best guy, but i just wish he hadn't been touched by it to begin with, because the moment the gas got him, i already knew that there was nothing to be afraid of as far as the gas is concerned

I'm thinking the same. I guess after everything is resolved Law will be killed in the fight against kaidou or even at dofla's hands. Specially after being so overpowered in PH, and in some minor form, his fruit kinda clashes with Chopper's Dream...

I only hope that we get to see his flashback, because it looks like he had an interesting past...

Am I the only one who was irked by this development? I mean, yeah, it was to be expected that Doflamingo would have his grin turned upside down one day, but this way? I don't know, it doesn't feel right. Maybe because I'm a little biased and was expecting someone's ass to be kicked by the guy in a feathery pink coat.

Garth2The2ndPower In reply to Magic-Alverman [2013-02-01 15:53:11 +0000 UTC]

You never know, after all, Doflamingo was already dangerous enough when he was just going with the flow. Imagine how fudge-making it'll be when the Strawhats inevitably come across a pissed-off Doffy.

It's a good thing Law is with them now, because I fear someone(s) will be losing body parts.

Yeah, one more doctor is surely a good thing for them, especially if he comes equipped with a whole sterile room. Though now I wonder, could Torao fix an arm that was severed out of his 'room' using his power? Right on the fly, I'd say no, what do you think?

What I love about Doflamingos defeat at the hands of someone like Law is that, well, it shows that whilst Luffy and his crew are changing the world, other pirates are having a chance in the spotlight, and are doing it in a way that Luffy never could. Law is one of those characters who does walk an interesting line of morality, doing things to make a name for himself in methods that are not exactly, shall we say, sporting.

When the 11 supernovas showed up, I know everyone identified Eustace kidd as Luffy's rival in the next stage of the grand line. The man was psychotic, driven and his devil fruit powers could match luffy's fairly easily. However, now, Law's kind of moved into that role. Whilst Luffy is loud, brash and direct, Law schemes, calculates, his powers are very different and require precision and planning, his methods are darker and more insidious. If Luffy is the adventurous spirit of piracy and Blackbeard is the dark flipside of that, Law is politics of pirates, the background dealing and the need for rules and a code.

Garth2The2ndPower In reply to screwinon [2013-02-01 15:28:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, just that one thing was the only obstacle.....

..... besides escaping the gas cloud smothering the entire island.....

.... and half the crew getting kidnapped.....

.... and the other half's makeshift raft capsizing in frozen water as centaurs prepare to rain firey death upon them.....

.... and the sharks......

.... and almost plunging to their deaths on icy stalagmites courtesy of the Yeti Cool Bros (Which even made Zoro a little trepid, BTW.)......

.... and Smiley's constant attacks......

.....and Law shuffling their brains....

.......oh, AND THE FREAKING DRAGON!!

But, other than all that, yeah it was a total cakewalk!

Garth2The2ndPower In reply to screwinon [2013-02-01 15:58:38 +0000 UTC]

You have to take relativity into account here. Think about it, how do you suppose CP9 would fare against the crew as they are NOW?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

screwinon In reply to Garth2The2ndPower [2013-02-01 16:07:06 +0000 UTC]

Ok. Than by relativity standards, I believe that the next villain of the next arc should be Trafalgar. Because I believe he's definitely the only challenge I can see the Straw Hats fighting against. YES I know about their Alliance thing, but let's face it. I truly believe Law is only using the Straw Hats as a means to an end. Because if there was ONE thing I picked up on, is that he's probably even CRUELER than Doflamingo. Especially when his power is concerned.

Sure Doflamingo can control people and hack-off body parts. But once taken out of context, Law's power is pretty f-ed up. The ability to cut people into pieces and still have them alive afterwards, is a very sadistic ability if you ask me.

I don't know why I keep doing this, cause I know you'll bash me with another comments of reasons that'll make me feel dumb. Maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Garth2The2ndPower In reply to screwinon [2013-02-01 16:38:22 +0000 UTC]

The only cruelty I've seen Law show is towards his old crewmates (Plus Tashigi and Smoker, but that was most likely an act since he was pretending to be on Ceasar's side,)which is of course indicative of a deep grudge he harbors towards them. Plus, after reading the last couple of chapters, it would appear that the Strawhats are starting to grow on Law, so I can't foresee him turning on them anytime soon.

I imagine the Yonkou will be quite the thorn in Luffy's side. I mean, you want cruel, how about a giantess that cannibalizes her own subordinates for no good reason? Or someone fearsome enough to make Doflamingo not want to get on his bad side? Plus who knows what other new villains Oda's got coming out of the woodworks?
