Description This is the base hierarchy for each colony! It differs at times based on who’s in charge and what’s going on, but this, relatively, stays the same.

Here is a run down on each role:

The leader of each colony oversees daily life, squabbles, major decisions, and politics in the colony. They make overarching decisions and have the most say in what goes. However, they sit on a council of a few other cats that also have a say: the delegate, the mediator, and how many envoys are in the colony

The delegate is the second in command of the colony and deals with smaller issues the leader doesn’t have time for. They help send cats out to do specific jobs, they manage how much prey is coming in and out of camp, and they help keep everyone updated on what is going on inside camp

The mediator is a messenger between colonies, who spends most of their time traveling between different places to gather news and trade resources. They send messages and warnings between colonies, pick up herbs and building materials, and they help mend or worsen relationships between different colonies

Envoys are voices in the council and are also the potential choices for delegate. They rank higher than base rangers and help the current delegate deal with the daily life of the colony

Elders, or retired cats in the colony, are high rank due to their wisdom and skills after serving many months in their specific occupation. They share stories and history of the colonies, give advice to trainees, and help out with tending to the base of the colony

Occupations in the colony differ from colony to colony, however, their are a few roles that all colonies have:

Nurturers are cats who tend to kits and elders in the colony, along with helping keep the base clean and tidy. They are also trained in medical skills, and act as therapists. They also help with base training, and teach kittens the basics of ranging, swimming, climbing, and hunting

The med-team in each colony is made up of a minimum of three cats, in which the team is divided into three main divisions: deep wounds specialists, who work with more severe wounds, amputations, broken bones, and fractures. Small wounds specialists, who work with smaller wounds like cuts, scrapes, stings, and bruises. They are similar to family medicine doctors. And finally, disease specialists, who work with illness and infections

Mentors are cats who specifically train to teach trainees how to become a ranger and, if the ranger decided to, how to pursue a deeper level of study. Some work with base training and kittens to help them get a deeper understanding in basic skills, and some work with older trainees who need to learn specific skills in their field. Mentors don’t teach medical team trainees, who are trained by medics in the field

Rangers are cats who hunt, patrol, and fight for the colony. This is the base role for after training, and many cats choose to stay rangers. The majority of the colony is made up of rangers

Trainees are young cats who are training to become rangers or a more specific occupation. Training starts with base training, where kittens are introduced to the territory and basic skills needed for ranging. Then, kittens officially start training to become a ranger. After becoming a ranger, cats can decide whether to pursue a more specific job or to stick to honing their skills in ranging

Kittens rank lowest in the colony, but are the most precious members. They new generations and future of the colony, kittens are heavily protected in each colony and are taught history and culture before base training
