Some possibilities for bird familiars in Rushing Shoals!

I didn’t detail much about how familiars work earlier, so I’ll write the lore here:

When a kit is born in a colony, a bird is born at the same time nearby. Most of the time, the cat and the bird have very similar characteristics, and the cat may have markings similar to the bird. This often allows family members to guess what type of bird the kitten is bonded to.

Once the kitten starts base training, the bird and the kitten will begin to spend time together, and the bird will often spend more time at the colonies base. Due to the special bond between kitten and bird, family will be able to pinpoint which bird is linked to which cat. After the official training ceremony, the bird and the kitten will begin training with each other, growing up and forming a stronger bond. Often the type of bird a cat is bonded with will steer them toward their occupational path.

In Rushing Shoals, the birds that are possible familiars are often sea birds or water birds, that can vary in size, shape, and ability!
