Description
Kite is a Ranger trainee in Hollow Thickets, who is currently being trained by Mourning Gale, and will most likely be passed onto another mentor once he gets in his time for his missed training.

As a kitten, Kite experienced severe bouts of illness growing up. After recovering from the many coughs and fevers he had amounted, he began base training later than most of his peers. Mourning Gale was his mentor, whom reassured him that he was not inferior to his colony mates for falling behind, something he became increasingly insecure about.

However, when the time came for each cats familiars to be introduced into the colony, his familiar never showed up. He’d spend many afternoons watching the sparring sessions of other trainees as they began bonding with their birds. After a quiet afternoon, in which Kite had refused to participate in any training, Mourning Gale took him out into the territory for a talk (A small comic I’m planning to make!)

Kite expressed his concerns that his familiar had died when he was sick (as cats and their familiars often experience illness, pain, and injury at similar times). After a reassuring conversation, Kite began engaging in more training sessions, catching up and becoming one of the most confident and skillful trainees of his generation.

Kite ended up finding his familiar out on a territory patrol, the white tailed kite watching him from a distance as he padded through the woods.

Kite has finished base training and has begun training to become a Ranger. Given his lack of training alongside his familiar, Mourning Gale is still overseeing his training, something he’d find embarrassing if not for his love of his mentor.
