Description So surprisingly enough I haven't submitted any of my concept art work to dA yet- that'll change!

I'm working on a project where I've taken Lion King and gave it a fantasy edo period spin.
Here's an interior of a sake house, when Simba (standing on the right) runs away and starts fooling around with Timon and Pumba.

Critique? None. Very much reminds me of the bars & brothels in the 2013 remake of Unforgiven (Yurusarezaru mono). The details and colors are stunning. Plus there are already some very interesting characters on stage.

Oh my gosh the colors in this one fit so well with the atmosphere. I just love grayish yellow tones, it feels both royal and down to earth. Your concept art is amazing and I just love finding all the little details in this. What a great interpretation of the Lion King. It would be cool to see more concept art like this. Please share more!

I'm...that's super cool idea oh gosh, I really hope to see more of it!

This one looks amazing, you captured the atmosphere perfectly, I can almost hear the music and footsteps on that wooden floor in the background haha

I honestly don't know what to critique here, I'm not a specialist on this topic (I know jackshit lol), it has a lot of details that work together (that broken gallery or stains on the floor, nice touches, it tells a story), it's not chaotic, it's realistic. Colors aren't aggresive, they support the atmosphere. It's not sharp, it's smooth. And about composition - maybe it could be improved by something, but I definitely can't come up with anything XD I mean, it definitely shows depth, it's a closed space that has it's own light and air. Simba doesn't really stand out, but it definitely draws my eye towards him.

What comes to my mind is maybe that it would be nice to see also part of the ceiling? We can see because of the shadows under Simba's feet that there must be a huge window, maybe it would be nice to see part of it? But maybe you aimed for a wider shot without it, who knows XD
Also, now that I'm looking at it, it could maybe use bit of a movement (unless, again, you were aiming for something still). MAYBE it would be nice if there were people outside those doors and windows, like they're passing by?

This got long again, sorry XD I really like analyzing your work, it has such depth unfff~

Please do upload more of these if you can, it's amazing! *A*
