Thanks! He's very, very influenced by Jack Kirby, which you can see in the Superman animated series. The Fleischer cartoons were a big influence on the first three seasons of Batman TAS, for sure, but I read in an interview that he actually tried to avoid that style when he started to develop his Superman series. He said that the Fleisher cartoons were so perfect that he could never hope to come close! That's why if you look at the first three seasons of Batman compared to the rest of his DC toons, the later stuff looks completely different. He used his more Kirby-influenced style so that he could get out of the Fleischer's shadow.

I liked the flescher look. Here is a story I hope you will get a laugh out of.On the weekend watching pbs station.Which played movies from the 1930-40s.They show flescher superman I was blown away.Because of the way they had the cars and trains. All they did was take out a few lines here and there. But it was something about superman build.I just could not get it out of my head.Anyway while at the liberry.I picked up a book about childrens tv shows.I came across the flieschers again.Read in later years they made popeye cartoons for famous studieos.Wow that why superman had a build like bluto.I laughed at my self for the rest of the day.

Thanks! Timm actually drew some of the He-man mini comics that came with the action figures, but he hadn't developed his signature style yet. Check out this excerpt from The Search for Keldor i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy…

Yup! So did Paul Dini and Alan Burnett, who later worked with Timm on Batman:TAS! Who knew, right?

Usually i am not much of a fan of this style, but for some reason it just really seem to fit He-man.

I thought so Y'know, Bruce Timm used to work on He-man in some capacity. I'm not sure what he did, though

Bruce Timm pencilled "King of the Snake Men" and inked "Escape from the Slime Pit" of the original minicomics.

It's probably the only shirt he had that matched his purple fuzzy diapers. Finding a bag and shoes to match must have been a nightmare.

Thanks. I guess I'm just old school, but I'll take He-man over Goku any day.
