Eeeeeeeh; Shazam (Captain Marvel) Vs. Superman has always been a topic for immense debate. On the one hand, it's Superman, the Man of Steel himself. Powered by the radiation of a yellow son, he's always been known as one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe.
On the other hand, Shazam is the champion of six Gods, and more than that, the champion of /Magic/ on Earth in the DC Universe; something that Superman is vulnerable to. Superman himself has admitted that, in both powers and spirit, Shazam is every bit his (Superman) equal.Β
I personally believe that Shazam would win, not only due to the power aspect of this possible fight, but also the fact that Shazam doesn't have as many years of fighting experience that Supes does, if you think of it chronologically. Superman is, roughly, around his 30s to 40s area. Shazam, though he has the body of an immortal magic man, is a child when not powered up. Thus, Supes wins due to vastly superior experience. Plus, Shazam is kind of immortal. If he never says, 'SHAZAM', to power down, he can endure time and Supes might be out-classed by a Shazam who actually has well-earned fighting skills from years.

Hahaha well I guess the only real deciding factor in who would win a fight between fictional characters is the writer. After all, Batman kicks the crap out of Superman every other week for no real reason other than popularity. Personally, I like the Kingdom Come version of the fight (where Shazam's magic gives him the edge until Superman's experience wins out), but the client wanted to show Supes overpowering Shazam in a physical way. Supes is my favorite character, so I didn't mind drawing it, but that's not the way I would have written it if it was purely up to me.

shazam is a magic superman, supes is vulnerable to magic like he is kryptonite so no supes would lose.

He's vulnerable to magic, but it's not the same as his weakness to kryptonite. The presence of magic doesn't make him physically ill or anything. Remember in Kingdom Come #4 when Shazam kept calling the magic lightning down from the sky? It hurt him more than regular lightning would have, but he took several straight shots from it and still won. The Superman/Shazam animated movie shows this pretty well, too. When Black Adam hits Supes with a bolt, Superman is surprised by how much it hurts, but he's able to keep fighting.

No, the Rodney Dangerfield of supers is Wonder Man, Simon could really give Supes a run for his money on this one, but the things writers have done to/with him...or even worse FAILED to do with him... Β (That sound is my teeth grinding.)

Yes, he was in the Uncanny Avengers Β 2012 run. Β He got completely absorbed by Rogue (along with a whole bunch of other heroes) to supe her up enough to fight a celestial. Β Then when the Scarlet Witch decanted everyone from Rogue's head, somehow Simon was left behind, stuck in Rogue's head. Β I have heard that he is back out and in his own body again now, but I'm still catching up.
