Description For those who aren't in the know, Sony during the glory days & twilight years of their PlayStation console would release Collector's Edition Boxsets. I remember as a kid in the 2000's, my Dad bought me Crash Bandicoot Collector's Edition; which ironically had Crash 3, Crash Team Racing, and Crash Bash; but not Crash 1 & 2; but in all fairness Crash 1 is quite unforgiving (how it exepects you to complete a PERFECT game with all boxes per level without dying--it's irritating). Though in all fairness, it had something to do with release date...
Spyro The Dragon also got a Collector's Edition Boxset of the original trilogy--I remember it being advertised on the back of Crash Collector's Editon's game manuals to look out for it; but I never bought it. There was a time when those games were "expensive" heck, a new & sealed one goes for $700.00. After looking on Ebay since the hype for the Reignited Trilogy died down, the prices came back up. But man, I wish I would have experienced Spyro in that same way that I was introduced to Crash... not Enter The Dragonfly on GameCube; but then again my parents who bought that game for me had their hearts in the right place. Can't fault them for that!
Gex was going to be getting a Collector's Edition Boxset in October of 2002; sadly it ended up not releasing. I took matters into my own hands, and made a fold-out Collector's Edition Boxset you too can make for your very own video game collection! I know that it is 20 years too late, but hey--better late than never, I suppose...
I did the whole box design from scratch; and I ended up updating the layout from this: static.wikia.nocookie.net/gex/… to make it more colorful, and attention-grabbing. Hey, I even saw how SOME Collector's Edition Box Sets' covers ended up becoming altered in order to make them sell more to the general masses. Tomb Raider I THINK was one of them, though I could be wrong.
