History: A divine moth, Mothra was seen by many as a deity, guardian, protector, empress, and queen throughout ancient China alongside Litra and Nǚwángosaurus, the three where the defenders of the country. She first set foot on Japan in 1961 in search for her Shobijin, she thankfully found them and later on the following year her twin larvae where born; Leo and Lara both of whom where a gift left behind by Mothra's mate Mosla who sacrificed himself to save her eons ago. In 2019 she helped Godzilla fight King Ghidorah in Boston only to get intercepted by Gigan, and the two flying Titans engaged in an aerial battle across the city as Godzilla and Ghidorah continued to fight on the ground. Gigan sent Mothra crashing into a nearby skyscraper, but she used her claws to knock him off and climbed to the top. Gigan flew back around and pinned Mothra to the top of the skyscraper, trying to stab her with his beak. Mothra dodged his attacks and used her stinger to pierce directly through Gigan's chest. Immobilized by the sting, Gigan fell backward down into the burning city below, shrieking in rage. To weak to fight back, Mothra was ready to give up her life however Phoînix arrived and healed her with his tears allowing her to re-enter the battle. After Ghidorah was killed, Mothra convinced the other Titans and her twin brother Battra to bow down to Godzilla.

Abilities:
Flight: Mothra can fly at Mach 3 in her imago stage. Her speed becomes handy in combat when she is able to dodge multiple blows from Gigan's tail and claws.

Silk: In both her larval and imago forms, Mothra has the ability to spit a stream of silk from her mouth. This silk is shown to restrain humans with ease when she first hatches and is strong enough to restrain two of King Ghidorah's heads long enough for Godzilla to recover and attack him again.

Durability: In both her larval and imago forms, Mothra is immune to the weaponry of the JSDF and Rolisican military. She was completely unharmed when the JSDF poured oil in the water and set it ablaze and simply swam through it. Even the Atomic Heat Ray Guns were unable to injure Mothra, though they did burn her cocoon.

Hurricane winds: In her imago form, Mothra can produce powerful gusts of wind that can reach up to 500 meters per second, by flapping her wings. These winds caused shockwaves and were capable of causing major damage to cities, as well as knocking Jirass off his feet. Vehicles, signs, roofs, and other small structures are destroyed if caught in the blast radius. Entire buildings and large bridges can be destroyed if directly below her.

Claws: Mothra uses her mantis-like clawed forelimbs in physical combat, and a single strike from them is enough to ward off Gigan long enough for her to prepare her stinger.

Eye beams: Mothra fires blue beams from her eyes during her fight against Gigan in Boston. She even used them during a fight with Battra as depicted in cave murals in China.

Thermal vision: Mothra’s larval form can sense thermal radiation. It is unknown if she possesses this sense in her imago form.

Bioluminescence: Both Mothra's larva and imago forms can change color depending on her mood. When Mothra is angry or aggravated she turns red, and whenever she’s calm she turns blue with traces of aqua green. In her imago stage, she becomes able to emit powerful bioluminescent rays known as God Rays.

God Rays: Mothra can emit concentrated beams of beta-wave bioluminescence from the patterns on her wings. Mothra's God Rays are yellowish-white in color and are powerful enough to completely dispel storm clouds. While they produce blinding light, Mothra does not use her God Rays offensively and seems to use them like a beacon to communicate with Godzilla and lead Monarch to him.

Stinger: Mothra possesses a wasp-like stinger at the end of her abdomen that is powerful enough to punch a hole through Gigan's chest. While not lethal, this blow from Mothra's stinger was sufficient to immobilize and incapacitate Gigan for the remainder of her and Godzilla's battle against King Ghidorah. Presumably, her stinger also injects venom, though its properties are unknown. During a conference, Monarch scientist Elsie Chapman joked that the stinger could double as an ovipositor.

Amphibiousness: In her larval form, Mothra is capable of swimming large distances across the ocean, traveling from her home of China to Japan.

Poison Powder: Mothra's weapon of last resort is a poisonous yellow powder that she releases from her wings. Mothra only uses this attack when she is near death, as it apparently causes her to lose her ability to fly. The attack does not appear to have much of an effect against Queen Ghidorah, as it only seems to disorient her.

Strength: In her larval stage, Mothra is able to destroy structures simply by plowing through them, even a large and dense dam. Mothra's imago stage demonstrates impressive physical strength shown when she drags the heavier Jirass across the ground by his tail. In addition, she manages to knock Jirass over by taking flight and slamming into him when he approaches her from behind while she is on the ground.

Reproduction: Mothra is said by the Shobijin to be immortal, and she lives on through her offspring. After Mosla died he lived on through his son Mothra Leo, when Mothra's time comes she'll live on through her daughter Lara.

Symbiosis: Mothra possesses a symbiotic relationship with the mutated iguana Jagras Igwane, which manifests in several ways. For instance, the pattern on her wings is meant to mimic Jagras' eyes. Mothra is able to communicate with Jagras over long distances through sonar.

Energy transferral: After she was healed by Phoînix's tears, Mothra along with Fire Rodan had their energy enter Godzilla's body and provide him with a substantial increase in power. This manifests as Godzilla's skin becoming covered in glowing orange cracks and emitting intense heat, a state known as Burning Godzilla. In this state, Godzilla can perform his most powerful attack which takes the form of a nuclear pulse shaped like Mothra's wings that produces the sound of her roar while also a silhouette of Rodan appears that also produces the sounds of his roar. These nuclear pulses were what allowed Godzilla to finally destroy King Ghidorah.

Psychic connection: Mothra has a psychic connection with her twin shobijin. The twin statues flanking her egg in the Temple of the Moth indicate that this bond is an ancient one. This suggests that this link extends to Madison Russell, who has a vision of Mothra while lying unconscious in the ruins of her old house in Boston. In addition, Mothra also has a connection to her children and Jagras.

Rainbow Form: Battra gave up all his life energy for his sister after he was critically wounded by one of Bagan's attacks thus Rainbow Mothra was born. She would eventually transfer this ability on to her children.

Aqua Form: During a fight with Destoroyah, Mothra gained a new form; a form that makes her adapted well into aquatic life, thus making her an extremely powerful combatant underwater.

Lightspeed Form: After fighting Queen Ghidorah, Mothra had tricked her into giving her some of her energy thus giving Mothra a form that makes her faster than the speed of light.

Fire Form: After sharing some of Rodan's energy, Mothra transformed into a firey version of herself. When she stabbed Gigan, the pain he felt from her stinger felt like fire burning his skin causing him to cry out in pain. She would eventually used this ability to ultimately defeat Gigan during the great war between Godzilla and Bagan.

Armor Form: Mothra gained an armored form with the help of Anguirus and the last of Krystalak's energy, she was able to easily overpower both Biollante and Megaguirus with this form.

Eternal Form: Combining her offspring's energy and Battra's dark energy with her own, Mothra becomes an eternal version of herself, giving her a power equal to that of both Grand King Ghidorah and Bagan.
