Here is my entry for contest. I hope you will like it!

There was some days that Mohatu brought Kipendo to the Prideland. Princess Uru was really happy to have a playmate, with whom she could play all the day. But the little white cub was not as enthusiastic as her. He was very timid and shy. He didn't understand why he was here, with a pride he never saw before, lions he didn't know... And why his parents was not here with him.
He was lost. Oh, every lionesses was very nice with him, in... Adoration for some of them. But it was nothing like his mom. He missed her, and his dad. After a week, he realized that he will never see his family anymore. And he was demoralized, lying in the grass all the whole day...

To her side, Uru felt bad for her new friend. he was separate from the other, and even her. He never played with her, he only looked at the horizon with tearful eyes. Hoping, praying for his parents come and get him. But nothing ever happen. And the princess remained with him. It was unbearable to see him like that. And she decided to do something, talk to him. Really...

<< Kipendo, come on, let's go home >>

The white cub looked her, then, looked the sunset...

<< It's not here my home...

-But it could be. Why don't you let us be your family?

-Because you are not. Your nice, but... I want my mommy... >>

He sniffed. Uru imagined a moment how she could felt if she was away from her parents. Probably she would be sad, desperate...

<< You miss her, don't you?

-Very much... Why she let your father take me with him?

-Maybe... I don't know. Maybe she wanted to protect you from something bad. Maybe she had no choice? >>

He looked her grimly.

<< But now you are here, and I though we could be friends? I think you need one. >>

And she cuddle him gently.

<< Why you did that? >> He ask.

<
-You like me?

-Yes, and I want make you smile, but I don't know how to do...>>

She replied sadly. Out of the blue, Kipendo smiled and stand up.

<< You already do. >>

I always though Kipendo was first sad to be away from his father and mother. But Uru's friendship made him smile again, and it's how their friendship and love started.
