It was perhaps a while later that Naomi had her child head back into the herd.
“Utopia Sweetie?” The filly looked up. “Yeah Mom?” Here Naomi cleared her throat. “Mister Ahiga and I need to talk alone. Why don’t you find some of your friends and play for a while alright Dear?” The filly nodded. “Okay Mom. See you later. Bye Mister Ahiga.”

With that, the filly was off, bounding along on spindly legs. Once she was out of sight and earshot, the stallion glanced at the mare. “Something wrong Naomi?” Naomi's demeanor had changed and it wasn’t lost on the stallion. “That’s….that’s the first time I’ve seen her being so open and chipper around another stallion. Her father….he was never there for her, for me.”

The Red Dun gave a snort. “He abandoned you?” Naomi shook her head. “No so much abandoned us, more like he..”
“He was never there.”
Another nod.
“He was always hanging out with other mares. His friends. Rather than with us. He hardly gave us any time together, like he wanted nothing to do with Utopia or me.”
Another, heavier snort left Ahiga, a sound of disgust evident. “You don’t need him Naomi. And he sure as Mother Earth doesn’t deserve either of you. He’s not loyal if he’s going with other mares rather than you. That’s...Oooo!!”

The Red Dun stormed a ways off--livid. “Stallions like that, really rub me wrong.” Naomi gave a questioning whicker. “You and especially Utopia deserve someone who will be there for you, who will be the father Utopia needs and the mate that will remain loyal to you Naomi.”
He felt a nose press to his shoulder and he looked down to the side.

“Thank you Ahiga. For listening to me and giving me the boost. You’re a good stallion.” His ears splayed with a flush of heat. “Ah N-no problem. G-glad to help.”
