Description
There are some historical anachronisms here, but I hope you will forgive them here.HMS Troutbridge - made famous by the Navy Lark Radio series, seen here in action with some unseen sea monster.
Sadly, The cast of the Navy lark are absent as this is set in the 30's/40's
The picture shows the bridge of a Destroyer, in this case derived from that of HMS Cavalier. The domes to the rear are a post war additon - a radar director control tower for the 4.5 guns.

I've just remembered. HMS Troutbridge is really HMS Troubridge.
Wouldn't Lt Commander Stanton be on the ship?
But it's a brilliant colour print.

I can forgive the anachronisms in light of the tension in his face, the artistic merits of the piece

Awesome picture!
The only question is, is the WW2 of Troutbridge any more adept then their successors? Or should it be the rest of their flotilla that's ducking?

For the purposes of this picture, they're absolute bad-asses, but outside of this, they were probably as hopeless as the crew we know and love.
My favourite is Lieutenant Philips.

Even in the origonal they could be good, when they got their act together. So, really rarely!
Philips is a lot of fun, but Pertwee's continuos scheming always kept me amused, particularly when it came unstuck, which is did in a regular and spectacular fashion
