Description So you took out student loans to pay for your BA in Philosophy. But you dropped out. Now you're in fucktons of debt with a degree you didn't even earn and couldn't use even if you got it. Who is at fault? Clearly not you!

THE RICH PEOPLE. YEAH. IT'S SO THEIR FAULT FOR YOU NOT BEING ABLE TO PAY OFF A STUDENT LOAN YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN OUT BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T HAVE EVER AFFORDED IT.

Seriously, looking at the pictures of the "I am the 99%" people was like looking at a gallery of the most entitled fuckwads on the planet. Don't take out loans you know you can't afford to pay back and don't blame people for your poor life decisions. DUH.

NOTE: I know some situations you can't predict. Family member gets cancer, bills stack up, shit happens. I'm talking about taking out loans to buy houses you KNOW you can't afford and using credit cards to buy shit you don't need to survive and KNOW you can't afford. Self made disasters if you will.

Well, I'm not up there, but they've been posting their GA agendas on their website, so it would seem they are indeed using the model. [link]

What they post and what they are actually doing are two completely different things - I've been down there and seen it myself =/
Occupy Toronto protesters should be ashamed of themselves.

Americans have a multitude of damn good reasons for joining the Occupy movement. Canadians... not so much.

I can't say the issue is entirely so black and white. For one thing, there are those with such staggering figures of money, that they could eat at a five-star restaurant every meal for their entire lives, and still be making more money than they could ever spend. It's not to demonize them, but distribution of money seems to be staggeringly imbalanced. The movement itself is not just college drop-outs... it sure has attracted a butt-ton of slackers hoping that their bodies can benefit as meat to support the movement in numbers, but there are a lot of hard working citizens out there. Army Vets, retirees (who have worked hard for 30+ years), students who are still in school, and even those who graduate.

I can say I'm more for the movement than I am against it, but I can say I'm shocked to see how against the movement you truly are. I understand your reasons the way you represent it, entitlement is a disease that's crippling the country and the world, but I think this movement goes beyond such simple ends. In truth, without an actual goal, it seems the protestors are inadvertently backing a communist set-up, which on large-scale will always fail, but I'm interested to see what possible change this movement could bring out.

Who knows, if the movement was better covered by the government, who, due to their inconsistent censorship has earned a view in my eyes as the villain... perhaps I wouldn't be behind the movement as much as I currently am. I'd like to hear more of your input as to why you're in such stark opposition, as I've found through a majority of your stamps, you seem to back the view less taken. This almost paints you as a political-conservative.

I'm ALL about not giving people what they don't deserve, but I'm in support of what started the protest, not the drama-llama parasites who are clinging to the movement in hopes of nipping at the scraps.

Okay I need to say this. Yes people shouldn't take out loans they can't afford, but they should be able to get a job. I mean the rich are taking all our jobs away, and sending them over seas. Not to mention they take health benefits and all that away. Who do they expect to support the economy? The working people who don't have any jobs. Another big problem is that they receive work for illegal immigrants. As long as they don't get caught that is okay, and they dare to replace the working people with robots. I mean haven't you seen any of this?

I think a lot of the anger stems also from how the rich just aren't suffering like the rest of us. If we're cranky, they should be too.

This so effing hard.

I can't say I am really in the know about this topic, but I remember reading a little blurb in my local paper about an "Occupy" movement happening in my town. The article stated that the protesters are mad because they have tons of student loan debt and there are no job prospects.

I thought, you fuckers should have thought about that before you took out a huge loan you had no idea how you were going to pay off in order to get your liberal arts degree. It's not corporate America's fault you make terrible decisions.

...I thought the protests were mainly about, "Hey you rich fucks! STOP buying out our politicians! D:< "
But idk, I could be wrong, haven't paid too much attention.

That IS what the protests are about.

If that's the case, I think they have a valid message. But from what anyone can tell.. there are those protesters who are there just for the sake of being there.

That is what the press wants everyone to believe, because the mainstream media is controlled by the "rich fucks" who don't want the message to get out. They even like to pretend that the protests are not as big or widespread as they are. (For example, one march that ended up halting traffic was reported by all networks as only being 5,000 people. It was easily 30,000 people.)

You can easily find anything you want to know about the movement here, though [link]

c: Good to know. I also recently found out that 68% of the millionaire support increased taxes on themselves... but the 32% are like super greedy and basically bought out all politicians and media. D:

I miss the freedoms we used to have... =/

Don't worry. I've been paying attention, and I still can't figure out exactly what they're complaining about.

The stance of the movement is laid out clearly on their website. [link]

The mainstream media has no desire to accurately represent the stance of the movement because the media is owned by the people we are protesting.

Oh, this. So much this.

It's always the fault of the wealthy, for no other reason than the fact that they have money, which apparently makes them bad people. Then again, the American stereotype these days seems to be "bitch bitch whine IT'S NOT MY FAULT EVEN THOUGH MY ACTIONS LED UP TO THIS bitch bitch bitch fat durrhurr". Or something to that effect.
