Description
Note - this is a cut-and-paste from the description of my "Purgatory Cliffside" picture. I felt the description fit better on a detailed reference sheet than a specific scene. I have edited some parts of it though to be clearer.
A brief history:
Lahgtah's history is also a complicated one, stretching all the way back to the creation of the universe at the end of the Celestial Wars. He has manifested in thrice over the eons, each representing one of the three triune aspects of the Creator: Repentance, Zeal, and Faith. Each time he manifested as a Clepathian because the Clepathians are those who struggle the most with overcoming the temptation of sin. His name, like all Clepathian names, stems from his family's unique ancient tribal family language, using the constellations over their world at the night of birth representing glyphs, which represented letters. Each time the stars would form in the glyph representing Lahgtah's name over the skies of the original Clepathian homeworld, he would be born among them. Each time, however, the memories of his previous incarnation were also forgotten by them.
Each manifestation was also their own unique person: though son of the Creator, they still thought and saw as mortals do. The purpose was to give his son something he never had, and that was to become one of them. The Creator and his son were one and the same, yet also their own individuals. All omnipotent and omniscient, but in the linear timescale of a physical universe, omniscience carries a different implication.
His first manifestation was the manifestation of repentance, a great conqueror and first to be born with stilluses, but his gift was taken away from him and given to all other Clepathians. The repentant went from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, living out the remainder of his days in penance for his actions. The second was the manifestation of zeal, rallying a divided galaxy of Clepathians together against a common foe: an extragalactic invasion that threatened to wipe them out. This second incarnation was also the one who entrusted future instructions to the reclusive Klannphayar to prepare for the third.
The third and final was the faithful. In a sick society of hedonism where faith was a foreign word, the faithful came to believe in a brighter future for his people, perceiving beyond the flesh the evils burning away at the souls of his people. He was taken by the Klannphayar, and instructed what he really was, educated and trained in the lost arts his previous incarnation left for him.
Lahgtah today is a manifestation of all three in the shape of a Clepathian depiction of an angel, but with the faithful taking dominance in terms of his personality and how he thinks. He often must rely on the wisdom of others around him, as though he is powerful and unbreaking in his love and faith, he is not without his own crushing flaws. Those closest to him often find him naive, or foolish in his dangerous adventures. Ironically, very few actually know that he is the son of the Creator, most believing he is but an angel. The reason he keeps this secret is so his people do not become complacent - he may be the son of the Creator, possessing all the powers of the Creator, but equally so he is fully mortal and does not necessarily know how to use his full potential.
There is much, much more that I left out, as he has several long stories to tell, but this covers the very basic fundamentals of who he is. Personality-wise, Lahgtah is very child-like at heart at most times: very jovial and earthly in spite of his grandiose nature. However, in times of strife, he adopts a much firmer, bolder, and hard demeanor needed to lead and inspire the armies who would lay down their lives for their nation as he would for them. Still, it comes as a surprise to many he meets that he is far more "mortal" than they expect, not even acting like royalty let alone an immortal creature. For this reason, there are often others to assist him in diplomacy.
Some data about what he is:
Height: 10 feet head to toe, 14 feet wing to toe.
Wingspan: 30 feet.
Tail lenght: 11 feet
Weight: 1,200 pounds under standard gravity.
Lahgtah is physically very large(big boi), with very powerful legs that can kick through armor starship hulls. He has very large feet shaped much like hands without thumbs, allowing him to grab things with them as well as distributing his weight quite nicely on the ground. His tail, like his legs, is also very strong with a great degree of control over it, but is used mostly for balance and agility.
Lahgtah's hands have two fingers and one thumb on each. Like Clepathians and Klannphayar, his claws are his fingers, not just extension of them. His head is very similar to a Clepathian's but bearing four ears instead of two, with the secondary and smaller pair behind and lower than the larger two. He also has two prominent tusks pointing downward from in front of his top row of teeth. Lahgtah personally finds them very annoying and does not see their purpose, but every time he's tried to get rid of them, they just grow back within a few hours.
His fur is a clean white, but unlike the prickly, slick, needle-like fur of Clepathians, his is soft and velvety, but not necessarily shaggy or long. His eye color is an darker emerald green in is Clepathian form, but a shining golden-white in the angelic form depicted here. Around his eyes are a halo of harmless magical white flames, flickering slowly and subtly - often only visible in darker areas, burning brighter or dimmer depending on his mood.
Even though Lahgtah is technically androgynous - being physically neither male nor female - he still speaks with a male voice and behaves in a masculine way, true to the fact he was a male as a Clepathian. For this reason, he still keeps his signature tail cap, even though he doesn't really need it as he has no unchaste regions to hide.
As implied before, Lahgtah can shift back into a form appearing like a Clepathian, however this form is the same as what he was just before adopting his angelic body. This Clepathian form still has three digits on the hand, and a larger tapering tail instead of a thin one. Likewise, he is still androgynous in this "pseudo-Clepathian" form.
Lahgtah's wings are huge in their maximum span: spreading wider than he is tall. In addition to flight, he also uses them in combat to protect from blast shockwaves or shrapnel, given the that the skin of the webbing is very tough and almost numb. He can also dig his toes into the soil and send forth a great gust of air to hurl opponents backwards.
Internally, Lahgtah's blood glows a golden white, is extremely hot, and evaporates very quickly unless contained. No one really knows what he looks like on the inside, other than that he does have bones, and seemingly does not have a digestive system of any sort. Lahgtah does not need to eat nor drink, but if he does, the substance is annihilated to plasma and slowly seeps out in the form of vapor from his pores over the next few hours. He will still eat or drink as a polite gesture, such as being invited to or hosting certain dinner events. The only problem is that he needs chairs specially designed for his shape, as well as utensils. His sheer size often necessitates very high doorways, and his weight means he often cannot go certain places; he has, on multiple occasions, proven a bit clumsy in places ill-fitted for him.
He also does not need to sleep, and does not fatigue from strenuous activity(he still experiences mental fatigue, however.) He regenerates wounds rather quickly, but not so quick as for them to not hinder him. A gunshot wound will still take a few hours to fully heal. If a limb is amputated, the severed limb will vaporize to nothing as another regrows in its place; this has only happened once, and it is a traumatic event Lahgtah would rather not repeat, because even if he does heal quickly, he still feels the pain all the same as a mortal would.
His sword is a very powerful weapon linked to his very soul - it is almost sentient in its own right, being an instrument of his will, and a symbol of the HNT's crusade. It has a history of its own, being named "The Blackened Tears" after the tears he shed when forging it from the ashes of who he thought was his father, but was actually his previous incarnation whom also shared his obsidian black blood in mortal form. Upon striking an opponent, especially an evil one, it does not merely cut, but sears through their flesh and attacks their very soul. The pain inflicted is not just physical, but mental and spiritual. Undead stricken by it cannot be raised again, and any others attacked will be unable to the heal the wound so long as they remain unrepentant of sin. The sword is, by all physical means, unbreakable, with a crystalline edge that never dulls. The runes along it glow with holy light in various patterns when the blade is hungry for the slaughter of evil, or reflecting the emotions of its master.
The most unique form of the weapon is when Lahgtah turns it from a sword into a blazing, long whip of pure holy flame, cutting huge swaths through unholy legions with each swing.
Paired with his sword is his great round shield. Five feet in diameter, obsidian black just like his sword, with a Felth'more crest emblazone on its face, likewise unbreakable by physical means, extremely resilient to all magic, and capable of projecting a powerful barrier over those around him. He can also be seen throwing it at opponents(captain america anyone? ) He can combine the sword and the shield to form two-handed greatsword, but only does so on a few occasions. This sword has the same appearance of the sword he carried as a Clepathian, but much larger to suit his size.
His armor is the least special of his equipment. It is sturdy, resilient to both magical and physical trauma, as well as lightweight(for someone of his size, at least.) It is simple by design, covering only the most essential areas as to allow him greater freedom of movement. He does have a helmet, but almost never wears it. He also has a heavier combat suit, but like his helmet...never wears it. Lahgtah prefers for his strength and agility to be as unburdened as possible, relying more on his shield for defense than armor. The armor itself functions similar to modern HNT body armor in that it projects and invisible barrier around the wearer, dissipating energy and high-velocity impacts. Low velocity impacts, such as from weapons however, rely on its own structural integrity, or its wearer's capacity to avoid getting hit entirely.(this is also the reason why, in such an advanced society, melee weapons are more often at the forefront of infantry combat than ranged weapons.)
Still, even with all this magical power and physical might, it is only "just enough" to fulfill the tasks he does, and even then he is often insufficient on his own. There is a reason the Crusade is Eternal: because their enemies will not stop: infinite in number, deadly in cunning beyond the comprehension of mortal minds, and immense in power, but until the final judgment of all creation, neither will he. As long as there is so much as one mortal soul to save from sin, to protect from evil, he will fight on...because faith and love are inseparable.
