As a cub: Mseto's mother left as soon as he no longer needed milk, leaving him as a rogue with his father Sungura. Sungura loved his son, often Mseto wasn't allowed outside of his sight. One day, Sungura told Mseto to stay behind a couple of rocks and to not move. He stayed there for about two hours before a mysterious lion found him, he introduced himself as Uongo and took Mseto to live with his traveling pride. Mseto, now under the name Spots, trained as a solider under Uongo's rule.

As an adult: Mseto gained a high rank in Uongo's army at a young age, and one day they made their way to the Pridelands. They're plan was to take it down from the inside out, but Spots fell in love with one of the lionesses. She was one of the king Scar's favorites, Nala. She convinced him to go by his original name and to tell Scar about Uongo's plans. After Uongo and his army fell, Mseto got engaged to Nala. She promised to go find help to take down Scar, leaving him behind. She returned with the lost prince Simba and Scar was overthrown. But, while away, Nala fell in love with Simba. Mseto agreed to have a poly relationship, mostly because Nala was pregnant with their cubs, Kopa and Gazo. Not long after the two were born, Nala was pregnant again and had Kiara. But, Kopa was attacked by one of Scar's old followers and Mseto and Nala decided that it was safer for them to live in the Eastern Mountains until Zira's followers were defeated. A lioness named Uso pretended to be Nala until they would return and Kiara was left behind with Simba because she was the hieress. Life at the mountains was peaceful and Mseto got to meet Nala's family. Every now and then Simba would come visit his mates. After Zira's followers left her and joined the Pridelands Mseto, Nala, Kopa, and Gazo returned home. Mseto, Nala, and Simba happily ruled over the pride.
