Well, I'm not good at explaining things, so here's just a progress walk through thingy.It's how I make every page of my comics. If you're curious, I'll send you some tuts or an explanation on what I do when I make le comic pages. 'Til then, enjoy le' progess!
I'm not censoring the dayum thing because I don't really see any violence of and nastiness until the very last page. Whatever.

Awesome! I need to try these steps sometime! I'm usually stuck after the sketching, but I've now realized that some of my basic sketches look a lot like yours! The only difference is that I like to make him look more cartoony and fluffy...

1. how do you do to color over the line without color over it?
2. why did you shade the brown color when, say on sonic who's blue, cause don't you have to shade the blue color as well?

It is a very different way of coloring ,yes, but as for your questions...
1. To do that, you need to separate line art, color, and sketches in separate layers. You can do that with programs like Photoshop, GIMP (I think), and PAINT.net (a program that also features layers as well.)
2.This is tricky, but I don't really shade with brown at all. In fact, the shading is done with a very dark gray. I've set the "Shading" layar to a "photo filter" adjustment on photoshop, and the grey that the photo filter is set on also appears to take a brownish color, because of the orange layer underneath that layer.
I hope this makes sense...adjustment layers are hard to explain sometimes.
