This month marks ten years since one of the most well-known Internet critics made his debut. Of course, I’m referring to the Mysterious Mr.Enter. Simply known as Mr.Enter for short. Because, let’s be honest, he really isn’t mysterious anymore. A reviewer known for his scathing critiques of episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants made after the first movie based on the show. And recently, a reviewer now known for complaining about the lack of references to September 11th in the 2022 Pixar film Turning Red as well as his controversial thoughts regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. This has nothing to do with whether or not he’s a good reviewer or a bad reviewer. This has more to do with the level of infamy and criticism he’s managed to garner for the past decade. Such as:

-Getting worked up over episodes of animated shows he didn’t like. Such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Family Guy, My Little Pony (mainly G3), etc.
-Getting angry at SpongeBob writers for just simply doing their jobs. Which in turn caused some of his fans to harass them on Twitter.
-His fanbase taking all of what he says as gospel and making their own Animated Atrocities cards on DeviantArt.
-His attempt at a cartoon called Growing Around. And how people thought its premise was confusing and how they felt it wouldn’t work for an entire series.
-His failed IndieGoGo campaign regarding Growing Around and how he was asking for a goal of $350,000 just for one episode. Which is a lot.
-How he tried to review every Nickelodeon cartoon in December, 2019. Even then, he got a lot of details wrong (such as only covering a few episodes of a show which came across as unfair) and how it took as late as February, 2020 for all the reviews to come out.
-The various series he has left abandoned including Mixed Messages and Nick-O-Rama 2.
-The editors he has hired including Star Giant Productions and all the controversy regarding that individual in particular.
-His stances regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic such as his views on masks. He has since privatized his videos regarding this.
-How he got worked up over animated PSA’s teaching children things like climate change, COVID-19, and racism.
And most recently…
-How he complained that the Pixar film Turing Red did not make any references to the September 11th Attacks with its 2002 setting despite the film taking place in Toronto, Canada, which is hundreds of miles away from Ground Zero. And how 9/11 isn’t relevant to a coming-of-age story in which the main character transforms into a giant red panda as a metaphor for puberty.

As you can tell, they’re all in chronological order. Some people might view this as a cycle. Mr.Enter does/says something controversial, the action fades from the spotlight. It appears that he’s improving… Only for him to do or say something controversial again later on and then the cycle repeats. While others will compare this to BoJack Horseman (which is his favorite show which I don’t think is surprising) as that character goes through a cycle for the duration of the series. Just like how Enter does. Regardless of how I feel about the show, I definitely see why you could argue that and I would agree with that statement to some extent. Will he break the cycle? I really can’t say. Should he get help? Yes, definitely. But what I do know is this. Mr.Enter is a cartoon reviewer who has managed to gain a lot of infamy and criticism over the past ten years and has possibly changed how society views people who review animation on the Internet for a living.
