I just wanted to say thank you for posting this. But being a computer language illiterate I wouldn't know what to do with the knowledge you disclose here. For example you define what each term is and what it does, but I wouldn't know how to go about using it. I'm the sort that needs "this is how you create a box ..." lol. Thanks again though, its very appreciated as I can see from the many who commented.

Hey,
this is just a general overview - although i bet there are new classes i need to add - to tell people what it is for. I have several other tutorials and walkthroughs that explain people how to use code. And of course there are a lot of tutorials made by others that explain such things more in detail.
If you have problems with using code, maybe take a look around at #eCSSited That is my group where i try to collect as much useful resources about CSS/HTML as possible

I've wanted to start making journal skins for a long time, and this is really helpful. Thanks so much, and for the rest of the resources too.
I wondered if you could help me out with a quick question? How to you get rid of the annoying "|" between

It's probably some stupid, obvious answer, but it's driving me crazy

Depends on what classes you use. There are currently the gruze classes .gr-... and the old ones .journal-...
If you are using gruze then it would be .hsep{display: none;}
If you are using the old structure you have to set the font-size for .journalbottom to 0 and the font-size of .journalbottom a to any higher value, to make the links show up again.

I know about it, but haven't used it so far
If you haven't used or missed something yet, it can't be that important for you

Somehow it is a shame, but i guess it's the best this way. Just think of even more messed up journals
