The ERDL pattern, also known as the Leaf pattern, is a camouflage pattern developed by the United States Army at its Engineer Research & Development Laboratories (ERDL) in 1948. It was not used until the Vietnam war when it was issued to elite reconnaissance and special operations units beginning early 1967. US Marine Corps standard issued the use of this uniform for units in South Vietnam in 1968, Army later would follow in 1970s, issued to those stationed in Southeast Asia. ERDL Combat Uniforms bear similarities to the OG-107 Fatigues, that was also widely issued to the whole branch of the United States' Armed Forces(USArF) at that time. (Source:Wikipedia)
