Description
The Legère Manufacturing (LM) FCM, also known as the Modular Combat Rifle, is a highly modular weapon system intended for use by the special forces of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Julie. The CYCLE I FCMs entered service in 2011 in two calibres: the FCM-P (6.35) and FCM-G (7.62). Both the P and G variants were produced with adjustable furniture and changeable barrels to give the platform much more versatility. The original CYCLE I FCMs ceased production in 2012 with only 3,000 G-variants and 700 P-variants produced. The FCM-G CYCLE II then entered production in 2015 with several revisions made based on the advice of Juniote special forces deployed with the rifles around the world. The CYCLE II has an overall shorter length to facilitate better CQC performance, a collapsible stock based on a larger, more rugged version of the Assassin-635's stock again for better CQC performance, more angular furniture to prevent the weapon from catching on the environment, a new more efficient muzzle brake, a revised more efficient gas block, and a new upper receiver with stronger and lighter polymers and allowing for increased accuracy (as high a 1MOA).
The FCM-G CYCLE II, along with the FCA-97 in 2017, was unilaterally adopted by the Combined Special Forces Command (COMFOR) whilst the FCM-P has seen less widespread use.
