Notice that when Elias joins the Secret Freedom Fighters, his hairstyle changes to a pompadour. I guess he wanted something less messy for the secret mission and tried to arrange it himself. Easier said than done. Besides, don't you think Elias' manly shag is enough to attract the ladies already?
