Description
A Sonic SatAM commission for of Princess Sally preparing to make a dramatic escape from the evil Dr. Robotnik and his Swatbots. The situation seems hopeless, but Sally has one last trick to play...
This was a fun commission to work on. While Sonic commissions are my bread and butter, I rarely get any specifically of the SatAM cartoon. I've never illustrated SwatBots before and only drawn the original Robotnik once in this pic . I prefer to use Pat Spaz's artwork from the pre-#50 issues, because his drawings of Robotnik are far more impressive and menacing than the cartoon. The mad doctor has one of the most evil grins ever for an animated villain.

Nah, shooting to kill isn't Robotnik's way. They'd stun her, then take her to the nearest roboticizer.

Don't the laser rifles used by the Swatbots have both stun and kill settings? And if you think about it Robotnik DOES kill, if he's driven enough. Remember in the first season when Sonic and Antoine destroyed the Sonic-Radar? Robotnik then said he changed his mind about roboticizing Sonic and was about to have both him and Antoine executed after asking for a rifle from one of his bots.

You're right about that one! In this instance Robotnik is shooting to kill, but not without his usual gloating monologues. This image in particular is a dramatization of what happens toward the end of a story I'm writing which is meant to be sort of a size event which occurs between SatAM episodes depicting specifically how the Freedom Fighters get the plans for the Doomsday weapon. Considering it is meant to fit into the timeline of episodes (between Cry of the Wolf and Spyhog thereabouts) she manages to get out of it relatively unscathed...relatively!

The 'when' really isn't set in stone as of yet but I'm hoping within the coming weeks it'll be wrapped up. Once it's finished I'll be posting it here on Deviantart as well as several other fanworks sites.
